@Mr. Hands, thanks, it actually makes sense, definitely two different guitars in that song

What song is Snah's double axe for?

@shakti: the GoaBoa website is incredibly confused and unclear, it took a lot of clicks before I vaguely understood where the place is… and I'm still not sure it's the correct place. And I AM ITALIAN!, and been in Genova a lot of times…

Apparently there are "GoaBoa" events in different venues, even out of Genova, but I think that the "GoaBoa Preview" (why Preview? What an idiot name is it???) is in the Ancient Port, which is the very center of Genova. Not the best area for a family walk, but I've seen concerts in much worse neighborhoods. And the sightseeing is quite fine if you like ports!

    Goa-Boa TUTTE LE INFORMAZIONI

Don't take it for good though, the indications are very very vague and contradictory… Hope they're gonna clarify in some way later…

Also, the site talks about an "opening act" TBA… please NO.

THE MIRROR AND THE LIE: I think that TM&TL is one of the best pieces of music from the "pop-era". For sure, it's my favourite song from IALC, but that's not a great deal, as I consider IALC an epic fail! I even enjoyed it live at the time (though I'm surely not begging for a return in the setlist).

UN CHIE n D'ESPACE: I want to clarify my ideas on that, because I think I've been misunderstood. There would be a European law that forces MP to play K9 at EVERY SINGLE CONCERT, because it's one of the greatest live experience you can have in lifetime. NONETHELESS, I consider the studio version the highest peak of all 80s and 90s music, the nowadays "Starless", something embarassingly over the top of everything! So it just wins the run between monsters. In NO WAY I think there's something less than divine in the live version!

Talkin' about bad live renditions of studio stuff, well, the acoustic KILL SOME DAY was veeeery lame…

And I'd like to focus on one of my absolute studio favorites, that hardly made it on stage: RAD FREQ. It's probably in my personal top5 from the band, but the only time I had the venture to get it live (Bloom 1998) it was very weak. In fact, it's been abandoned and forgotten, and nevermore played after the Trust Us tour.

At the time, MP toured as a trio. I remember Geb using samples for the silly winds parts, and Bent changing from guitar to bass during the crescendo before the final explosion… They probably found it too elaborate for a good live rendition.

But how about recovering it in a quartet formation? I think that with a fourth element they should manage to rearrange this outstanding song that I've been waiting for 20 years! What do you think?

mefisto: correct, that was 2004 in Sicily.

Un.Chien: lol yes, probably their american concerts were more "southern" than Avellino too :)

I was only considering Italy now.

in reply to: Motorpsycho live 2019 #33837

Yup, you're right, last year was Parma; Zona Roveri was in 2013… I have a bad memory of that concert but it's mainly due to my bad mood.

in reply to: Motorpsycho live 2019 #33834

Not only Avellino is a first, but it surely the most southern MP concert ever, with the exception of the one in Sicily in 2003 (the last Gebhardt concert!).

    Genova is also a "premiere".

Live Music Club is now the usual Milan gig (the place where RW4 Wishing Well comes from) that replaced Bloom; Zona Roveri is where they played last year in Bologna (bad acoustic, if I remember right); never heard about "Orion" in Rome.

I agree on Golden Core, not exactly a live masterpiece.

I'd dare to say UN CHIEN D'ESPACE, but everybody would insult me! The live K9 suite is great, but my love for the band was born when I first noticed the instrumental part from the AADAP album, those suspended drums, that saw-synth, that crescendo… so I love it enough to surclass the monstrouns live version!

The whole Death Defying Unicorn… I find it very confused in the live versions, ANY live verson… but maybe I only listened to bad versions!

@mister conclusion – Did he write The Wall after that?

I think I witnessed the only time in MP history in which Bent CLIMBED UP on the PA and did stupid things while the other guys were playing.

It was during Black to Comm at Totem, Castelfranco (I), 12-11-2002. You can find it here: http://www.motorpsychodelicclips.com/totem-club/totem-club-castelfranco (at 1:34:30)

(btw, I'm the tall ever-headbanging guy on the right corner of the stage)

Hi Bernie, I've got two suggestions for you. First of all, of course, the Rune Grammofon fest gig just cast:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fa9wf9TFgn8

and an old 1997 complete concert. Sound and video quality are actually quite bad, but still a great document from the past:

    https://youtu.be/Psc7PCSncow

The caption says "Circolo degli Artisti" but it should actually be "Frontiera", another venue in Rome.

    I'll add my 2 cents:

I've seen ALL the videos you uploaded, and I gotta say they are GREAT, thanks, thanks and thanks. Also, I think you wisely chose some great jamming moments and anyway very peculiar and often rare versions of many songs, not to mention the audio and video quality.

The problem is: I watched the whole stuff a couple of months ago, and now there are more and more stuff! Which is great of course, but I don't remember anymore what I have seen and what I have not!

So, keeping the stuff in chronological order is a splendid idea, but I'd add a "history" of the stuff uploaded, so that the users can see what's new on the site!

Thank you again for the great effort!

    Marco

Feel is barred. Was it skipped?

in reply to: Motorpsychodelic Clips – new webpage #33585

Great job, ffbernie! It reminds me that Phish fansite that shares tons of stuff from the quartet…

I agree with Phoots Flower, "knootify"'s youtube page is a real mine for complete concerts, mainly from Gebhardt's era.

in reply to: More TITS? #33434

I've always found the first Tussler album very funny and entertaining. And the second one boring and soulless… Also, I consider the 2nd album the bottom of the worst MP times (Love Cult, no tours, Geb leaving), while the 1st one was in the middle of the very damn thing growing up (Tim, jazz festival, experimental stuff, lot of fun in the band). These are things you feel in the music. Of course the 1st album is really out of the MP world, which makes it even more precious and interesting to me!

Live Tussler? Never happened at less than 1000 miles from me, so I only heard and saw bootlegs… I would've loved it anyway!
