btw, this poll makes me think we should do another album cup someday
I think somewhere between 20-30 concerts, since 1993.
That setlist matches my memory as well. Fantastic concert! No big surprises on the set-list with a mix of classics and the tower songs. Great sound, loud but clear and they sang like angels. ASFE a really good opening song, and the especially when followed by some high energy rocksongs. Really good flow from rock songs to more jammy songs to boring progsongs to the epics. They really seemed to enjoy themselves, and Tomas Järmyr is a perfect match. :STG:
Absolute highlights: Superstooge, Intrepid, Heartattac Mac and K9.
Only drawback: The Tower and the cockoo, sigh, I really dont get the at all. They totally ruin an otherwise near perfect album. Theyre a bit better live, but still… The Tower sounds like an uninspired Child of the Future outtake preformed during the Death Defying Unicorn quartet years (I like those albums, just for the record) and the cockoo is just a terrible song (except the ending, which is lovely) This is what we have EPs for people! Lacuna/Sunrise is really beautiful on the album, but live it kind of gets lost in to much noodleling. Especially when placed between these two. I`d rather they played Neverland three times in a row, at least that would not last that long.
Actually Elder is "officially" influenced by motorpsycho. I think I read an interview with them some time ago where they said something among the lines that after hearing Little lucid moments, they changed their view on the whole songwriting and composition process.
Did a quick search, but didn`t find that one, but found this.
I can hear recent prog metal bands like Opeth and Baroness but also classic '70s hard rock stuff in your music. What are your favorite bands and your biggest influences?
That's not really an easy question to answer as we all have very broad tastes in music. The most obvious influence on our recent music is Motorpsycho, at least compositionally speaking, as well as a lot of early prog rock bands and hard rock stuff from the '70s. Ironically perhaps, none of us listen to Opeth or Baroness and it's confused me to some degree that we seem to garner a lot of comparisons (at least to the latter). Some favorite bands? Bo Hansson, Stereolab, Black Mountain, Dungen, Motorpsycho, Credence Clearwater Revival, Emerson Lake & Palmer, etc. etc…"

Great album indeed, I fully support a vinyl release.
BTW while it`s hiiden on a CD box, it actually also streamable on Apple music!
Yes, a really enjoyable listen. The show as ha cool, relaxed and very geeky vibe. Great stories and reflections on mp, spidergawd and music in general. Feels very honest (except for the who´s your new drummer part
).
Loved it!
Tusen takk hvis dere er her inne
His new song is out now, very Gebesque. Not as good as That Day imo, but a nice enough little mid-tempo poptune.
Quote:Ah, I see. No dissidents allowed.Asking questions and being a bit realistic or cautious about a major change is frowned up. Everybody agrees that the new drummer is the best thing that has ever happened, fare thee well to Kenneth (we never liked you anyway) and the next all percussive afro beat album is of course already declared album of the year all across the site, eh. On vinyl that will be sent out a few weeks after release date (still waiting for my AADAP thing on that subject).
Then again maybe you guys know the band personally and do not want any sour grapes (or memberberries) to spoil that relation. Totally understandable. A bit weak maybe, but that is modern life for ya. Have a nice one.
Not sure about who has a attitude problem here….
There has been plenty of disagreements in this forum about musical directions, formats etc. Even the thread starter in this very thread is a skeptical about the new drummer ( but without sounding like a douche).
About Kenneth, he seems to have quite a big star in here, who put his OWN personal stamp on the sound, and will be missed by quite a lot of psychonauts. I personally hope the new drummer do the same, bring his own style with him that is. And judging his previous bands and musical escapades, I think this will be a good match. Hence my optimism. All percussive afrobeat album, now that would be very interesting, but seriously??
Also, when I pre-order, the record has always shows up prior to the release date, and whats wrong with BH/BC?
Really great news! A jazz(?)drummer who isn´t afraid of dronerockers. I love the record he did with Aidan Baker (of doom/drone/shozegaze band Nadja). Massive!
so yeah, liten forsinkelse fra Rune:
litt info begravd i en facebookthread
Hei dere! Beklager ventetiden! Håper likevel dere nyter musikken.

Nothing here. Came home to a mailbox filled with big black emptiness
