It says new people in key positions in plural, so it sounds like it’s not just a new drummer. But other than that, it’s anyone’s guess.

Stian Lundberg? Drummer from Trondheim, did one stand-in gig like a year ago if I remember correctly?

Dungen played a new tune at the festival a few weeks ago in Helsinki, maybe Reine is busy with a possible new album (Dungen’s last album is almost 4 years old by now).
Or maybe he’s busy with Goran Kajfes again after the recent shows.

Anyway, I am way more looking forward to any new MP activity than any Epstein file.
Another 4-week EU Spring tour would also be much appreciated.

The best thing would be the max set of changes: new full time drummer, new guy on keys/guitars/whatever, a proper horn section and new female lead vocal or side kick to perform some blasting duet gigs :-)

… with Bent & Snah on the front both directing in a mock Frank Zappa style ;-)

I think a full-time drummer is definitely called for. Even though we are well aware of what Bent and Snah can do without any help, that core of three, jamming and rehearsing every day in time-honoured fashion, is essential and not only makes MP a proper band but also enables them to be what they are in essence. Others can come and go and embellish what the core trio do, and past fourth members have certainly made important contributions that give fresh angles, but I doubt anyone will ever fit better than Reine; if he is out of the picture for now for whatever reason, I trust that we will see him again. Meanwhile, I look forward to whatever the new element brings to the table.

A horn section, wow. Yeah, maybe they’re recording a collection of half-hour long flute solos inspired by Tolkien and Jethro Tull, to paraphrase a rather hilarious comment from Turbonegro after their set was delayed by MP w/ the horns from Jaga Jazzist at a festival (Øya?) back in the days. Ooor, it’s «just» a new drummer. I’d love to be surprised, though.

I get the permanent drummer thing, but the last album and the last tour showed it’s not that necessary.

full time drummer is likely needed for the health and well being between gigs and recordings

So what’s happening with Ingvald, anybody knows? Earlier this year he had an injury, couldn’t tour, then resurfaced again briefly I believe for one or two shows… Just before his injury he seemed to have settled in very well. Just curious.

I saw Kanaan/Ævestaden in late October, with Ingvald on drums. Great concert, but much shorter and far less intense than an MP show.

Saw Kanaan late October. The best show I’ve seen from them so far – and with Ingvald in full flight. He said that he takes precautions and exercises to keep the problem well under control.

Maybe we will see potential new faces at the Yule-special on saturday?

Probably a permanent two-drummer-solution? Or a three-drummer-King Crimson line-up? Just joking – all’s good as long as they don’t employ an Arthur Brown/Kingdom Come-Style primitive drum machine. They came pretty close on N.O.X. though ;-)

According to SoMe Ingvald is on drums this Saturday / the yule special.

Everyone in Kanaan as members of Motorpsycho had actually become very cool
                                  .
If Reine doesn’t have time anymore. Ask is a great guitarist. And Eskild is good at both Synth and guitar. And a great bassist if Bent, for example, plays guitar..

Otherwise Bent’s son. Hopefully Jonathan will be more involved in Motorpsycho.
A lot of talent who had brought a lot of new things in.
