I’m not sure if he were part of the whole BH/BC-tour, but I remember Øyvind Brandtsegg played vibraphone at the Samfundet concert in 2006.

April 7, 2026 at 18:56 #45445Yes that’s correct – Øyvind Brandtsegg joined for the 18 gigs in April and May 2006, as well as on the Øya festival gig later that year. Here is Øyvind Brandtsegg’s own notes, including links to some outtakes (3x Un Chien, Triggerman, Sancho Says). He played the Marimba Lumina.
April 9, 2026 at 21:15 #45448Wow, just downloaded the Space Dogs. Supernice! Minimalist music poetry!
April 10, 2026 at 14:37 #45449Update:
I’m currently adding the Tussler gigs
I’m also working on the releases/albums. This is quite a big task, so it will take some time. For example: https://mpdb.no/albums/
— a few albums have already been added along with their releases. The layout of the album page isn’t ready yet, but you’ll get the idea. This will eventually be integrated with your profile, so you’ll be able to track what you have in your own collection.
All the data shown for the releases comes from Discogs. If there are any mistakes, it means the data on Discogs is incorrect.
I’ll be going on holiday, so there won’t be any updates in the coming week 😄
April 10, 2026 at 20:15 #45450It’s getting more and more amazing everyday!! Thanks for putting in so much effort. Enjoy your well deserved holiday!
April 20, 2026 at 09:16 #45453There is currently an issue with the web hosting provider. That’s why the following websites are not reachable:
– motorpsycho.no
– mpdb.no
– nfgs.noUnfortunately, there is nothing we can do at the moment except wait.
Update: motorpsycho.no and mpdb are back online
April 20, 2026 at 16:49 #45456The waiting is over ;-). Time to update those last gig entries – the last few concerts of the Norwegian Tour are up on archive.org.
April 23, 2026 at 13:40 #45458Update:
You can add MP releases to your collection. Not all the releases are added yet, but I guess most of the albums are added. I still have to do some singles, …
This takes a lot of time, so patience is the key :-D
It’s possible that there are mistakes, but that’s probably that the data on Discogs in wrong.
More Releases/Collection features will be added soon: – sorting and filtering
– add want-

April 23, 2026 at 13:54 #45460I asked Trøndelag teater but they didn’t actually have the exact Begynnelser dates in their archives. I am guessing here, but the dates probably have to be as follows if we assume they didn’t play on Sundays (38 shows, 6 days a week between Sept 2 and Oct 15):
Sept 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30
Oct 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15Pretty intense schedule!
And repeated twice at Nationaltheatret in Oslo during the Heddadagene theatre festival the following summer, June 9 and 10 2017
April 23, 2026 at 14:12 #45461Thanks @cloudwalker. I’ll add them somewhere in the next days…
April 23, 2026 at 17:29 #45462If you need input for new features i mpdb: a lyrics db would be super nice.
April 23, 2026 at 23:23 #45463April 25, 2026 at 10:17 #45464Thanks!
April 29, 2026 at 12:59 #45466Update:
All MP releases, along with their information, have been added to the database. On the release page, you can click the “I own this release” button to add it to your collection.
You can access your collection via: Profile > My Collection.
Currently in progress:
Adding the Tussler gigs
Adding lyricsThis will take some time, as things are quite busy here at the moment.
April 29, 2026 at 15:40 #45467So cool, thanks for these updates.
Having the discography makes it even more of a proper database. Lyrics and album details will be even greater. Thanks for the hard work put into this.I noted that pages often takes quite a while to load (using Vivaldi or Chrome).
On the releases page, it says “Discography” (instead of “releases”?) and “Albums” stays on display whatever filter is selected in the drop down list. I think this “Albums” header is not necessary.
On this page for instance, the same information is written three times (“2024 | Norway | 2xVinyl, LP, Compilation, Limited Edition, Turquoise Marbled”)
https://mpdb.no/album/becoming-motorpsycho-juvenilia-oddities-and-artefacts-from-the-vaults-1990-1993/
I guess it’s a category thing that could maybe be simplified? When doing a “song search”, any wrong entry will indicate “No albums match these filters.” instead of something like “nothing found” for instance.
On the release pages, there’s a category “Tracklist” then the header “Songs on this release”, which is redundant. I would just keep “tracklist” or even nothing at all if possible.
Same for “Liner notes”, the following header “Notes” is probably redundant.I’m browsing on a 16 inch laptop, and the site looks great, but obviously made for bigger resolutions.
For instance the padding between the track number and the title is IMO unnecessary big, same with the line spacing between tracks.
Sorry for the annoying list of comments, I’m all about readability and ergonomics.
This is great as it is and these comments can be completely overlooked. -
