It’s obvious who we’re chiefly talking about here again. He is not a lemming but, rather, a Judas goat – for now. I hope that, if he does go over the edge, he will not be alone but rather will take with him plenty of Epstein’s compromised friends of all political persuasions.
For sure, we’ve all come across these sorts, and they really do screw things up for the rest of us. What is so galling is to see how many of the rest of us just let them carry on or even fall under their spell and grant them more power. This works out on a larger scale when such types are active, as they inevitably must be, in the political sphere where they are overrepresented and where they can do so much more damage. I think this is the focus of the blurb and the lyrics.
Incidentally, I remember reading an interesting book about what was called political ponerology and it posited that real evil is at work through the kinds of psychopaths who gravitate towards these positions of power. The rest of us, because we have a conscience, find it difficult to conceive that anyone could be capable of the deeds which such psychopaths are able to carry out without compunction, e.g. sanctioning the wholesale slaughter of innocent civilians and children.
It means nothing of course, but I couldn’t help noticing that the resolution demanding the immediate release of all Federal documents relating to Jeffrey Epstein is H. Res… 577.
I’m not sure how immediate that is likely to be though.
How disgusting the whole Epstein thing may be – I can’t quite see the relevance of the affair, if you compare the few hundred or thousand victims, regrettable as they are, to the collective climate suicide/mass murder/destruction of living environment that is on the agenda of those oil companys and states behind Trump and his stubborn policy. Not to mention a whole immigrant population living in fear of being forcefully split from their family, relatives, homes.
Can’t see the relevance? Tell this to the victims of this child trafficking circle.
And regarding all other atrocities happening in the world: it’s not a competition.
For me the whole Epstein thing is just another, albeit big, ugly affair of abuse (of power, money etc.). As such as bad as it can get – but I also think it serves as kind of lightning rod for several others and maybe much more important developments endangering our life and freedom, that people are subconsciouly aware of but do not adress clearly for several realsons. But I won’t get deeper into this, as this is probably not the space for such discussions. Shouldn’t have started the sufject in the first place…
Johnny, unfortunately, it is extremely relevant. Imagine the psychopathic types characterised in this single being lured into filthy activities which are filmed and recorded (as we know they all were – and it is a scandal that the media have chosen not to explore that aspect – the filming and recording – and make it the main headline news) and then being subject to blackmail. Imagine the control that makes possible. Imagine the threat of blackmail on the one hand versus the promise of huge wealth on the other – plus the continuation of ego-flattering status and profile. Then it becomes easier to see why these types serve the few rather than the many, why they are interested in wars and regime change, why they wish to restrict freedom, why they help mount up enormous national debt, etc., etc.
A book that would explain all this far more knowledgeably and eloquently than I possibly could is ‘One Nation Under Blackmail – The Sordid Union Between Intelligence and Crime That Gave Rise to Jeffrey Epstein – Vols 1 and 2’ by Whitney Webb.

New people? A new drummer? A different Reine? Exciting!
Also, does this mean a second new album – one that is ready for next year (where Fanny is lifted from) and then this one that they refer to above for even later? Or is it the same one?

anny in the spring. So it looks like they’re going to make a record with some new people.
Looks like it’s in the starting phase.If it’s successful, the record will definitely come out in 2027. I think.

New people in key positions? For me that sounds obvious – a full blown hammond organ player, a mellotron muso and a jazz pianist each, added in typical Motorpsychodelic modesty ;-)
Or do they – after all these years – even consider some kind of fulltime lead singer? Hope not…
Absolutely impossible to say.But Motorpsycho usually lands. No matter what they try.
I hope some women come in.
And a good one on keyboards. I don’t think Bent will ever bring in a new male lead vocalist.It would have been cool if Motorpsycho became a full band full-time again.
And not just a duo.
But I have trouble understanding who in Norway and Trondheim at least is more exciting and has more to offer than Reine.
If he’s not with Motorpsycho anymore.
Then at least he’s been very important in the band.Will be exciting.
But I’m sure it’ll be good.
This can mean many things and MP can go in many directions: pop style like Phanerothyme et al, avantgarde/postrock or country. Most likely it’s just a new fulltime drummer which is of course based in Trondheim, hence there are not that many candidates.
Would be very surprised if any larger changes happen, like Reine being absent on the 2027 record.
