Ah. I didn’t know that. At any rate, he prioritizes his wife and children. He was certainly tired of all the commuting. And all the rehearsing, as I understand it. There could be other reasons, of course…
But it’s veeeery unlikely he’ll make a comeback in Motorpsycho.
Though he might well show up as a guest.
In the (often enjoyable) podcast Gammal Maiden (Old (Iron) Maiden – in Norwegian only) earlier this summer, Snah talked a bit about the drummer situation. He said they had practiced a lot with Stian Lundberg (who lives locally) and even recorded a bit with him. Snah didn’t declare him their new drummer, but said that hey all enjoyed more regular rehersals with a drummer and gave the impression that we could expect more Stian involvement in the future
I don’t know Stian all that well, and I have to admit I had hoped Ingvald would be more involved. But I think Motorpsycho needs someone who lives in Trondheim.
Stian seems like a solid drummer, and a likable guy. I also think there’s good chemistry, which is important.
So, I hope he contributes something new and brings some new people into the mix.
I`m Back… Finally… 7 years no Motorpsycho Tour for me….
The reason was simply absolutely no money for Concerts and traveling to other cities or i was on vacation or i had lost a very close ancestor…
So now i am going to see the guys for the 15th time in my life or so in Düsseldorf at 8.10…

I’m doing the 5 German dates as well this year.
Still have to figure out the train stuff, but looking forward to this trip and the shows.As it’s the first time the band’s playing there, and Dortmund isn’t visited by bands all that often: if anyone needs a few tips on the city, let me know. I lived just round the corner from the Junkyard for a few years…

I’d say feel free to dump food and art tips for fellow psychonauts doing day trips in the cities of this small tour.
For those interested in Renaissance painting: There’s one single picture (“Lament of Christ” aka “Die Beweinung Christi”) of one of my favourite painters, Matthis Grünewald, situated in the church of St. Peter and Alexander, the oldest church in Aschaffenburg.

A small selection, which makes no claim to be exhaustive and is largely limited to the cultural assets for which the city has become, or was, famous: beer, mining and Borussia.
Essen:
– Yüksel on Mallinckrodtstraße (a Turkish restaurant within walking distance of the Junkyard. I recommend the Islender kebab)
– Wurst Willi on Westenhellweg (a typical snack bar, I recommend the Currywurst)
– Zum Alten Markt on Alter Markt (the best Mettbrötchen in town, served on what’s known as a ‘Salzkuchen’ – you’ll only find this in Dortmund)
– Caracalla on Münsterstr. (good Lebanese cuisine, also within walking distance of the Junkyard)Beer culture:
– Bergmann Kiosk at Hoher Wall (delicious beer in a relaxed atmosphere, and close to Black Plastic (see below))
– Hövels Hausbrauerei (also at Hoher Wall; another small brewery serving delicious beer, though slightly more traditional)
– Dortmunder U near Hoher Wall (former site of the Dortmunder Union Brewery, now a museum and exhibition hall)Football:
– Borsigplatz (where Borussia Dortmund was founded, very close to the Junkyard; unfortunately, there isn’t much to see there…)
– German Football Museum (right by the station and within sight of the Dortmund U)
– Westfalenstadion (if you have enough time and are interested in a stadium tour… note: home match against Paderborn on 12 September)Mining:
– Zeche Zollern Museum (a former colliery site in Dortmund converted into a museum)
– Muttental in Witten (situated in a tiny town on the outskirts of Dortmund, the very cradle of hard coal mining in continental Europe. A small museum, set in the heart of the beautiful Ruhr Valley)
– Mining Museum in Bochum (a museum dedicated to the subject, including access to an ‘educational adit’)And last but not least: Black Plastic Records on Rheinische Strasse (the city’s best record shop with an adjoining café, very close to the Bergmann Kiosk and the Dortmund U)
