April 24, 2025 at 23:58 #44258The Alchemyst making its return. NICE
April 25, 2025 at 06:26 #44259Oh yes, fantastic 😃 and Dream Home again …
April 25, 2025 at 08:18 #44260Ooh wish they had done Go to California in Stockholm…
April 25, 2025 at 10:00 #44261Terrible placement of “Like Chrome”, a song I’ve never quite warmed with anyway ;-)
April 25, 2025 at 10:51 #44262April 25, 2025 at 12:31 #44264This was my third show and the first full length, the others being slightly shorter festival sets. Still working my way through their discography so was not familiar with The Alchemyst. Would have loved to see the set from Oslo!
I enjoyed it but found the setlist perhaps a bit dull. Sounded a bit sloppy but picked up towards the end. Elysium, Lucifer and Core Memory highlights for me.
April 26, 2025 at 21:51 #44279About 300 people in a 500 capacity club, making it comfortable and easy to move around. Last time Motorpsycho played this venue was 2008-06-01 in support of ‘Little Lucid Moments’.
This night they support their newly released eponymus album, as well as last years ‘Neigh!!’, both released since last time they played Copenhagen (Hotel Cecil 2023-10-07), and both heavily represented in the set.
Luckily there is also room for a handful of blasts from the past. Not much jamming going on, though, but at least we get a taste of it in Dream Home and Go To California. With The Alchemyst the psychedelia finally floats through the air, and it is also the only song they repeat from last time they stood on the same stage, 17 years ago already.
Other highlights to these ears are For Free, Manmower, Elysium Soon, and Lucifer. And Balthazaar (…Balthazaar …Balthazaaaar!).
Venue policy dictates doors at eight, and music at nine, way too late for a workday, if you ask me. I don’t blame the band, they were on nine sharp, but unfortunately the late show time ends up having an impact on the choice of encore. Neotzar is on the setlist, and it would have been the perfect end to this set, but due to time constraints they return with Kill Some Day instead. It is one of the songs that have always been performed the same way and thus not on top of my list of oldies I would like to hear again, but they give it a new twist towards the end, so for that I am happy and I am glad to have been able to capture it.
So that’s that. I will pack my spacesuit for Bremen, just in case.
