So, do any of you psychonauts want to join up and play some MP tunes? Just for the fun of it, try it on for size?
September 19, 2011 at 23:15 #20275Sure, that could be lots of fun!
Although that'll be a logistical nightmare for people living outside your hometown like lets say… another country.
What did you had in mind?
Maybe something like this:
September 20, 2011 at 04:50 #20276Oh, I forgot how international this forum is.
September 20, 2011 at 05:45 #20277So, TraktorBass, where do you live?
September 20, 2011 at 06:19 #20278Oslo.
Also, why can't I post a youtube video without the preview? I wanted to rickroll Crackpot..
September 20, 2011 at 11:19 #20279TB: write own songs instead, it's easy in the simplest form. Use the markers on the neck of the bass and alternate between those. => rock
September 20, 2011 at 14:40 #20280Vegard: some times its fun to play the songs you know and love as well
September 20, 2011 at 15:23 #20281LOL! Vegard just described perfectly how I play bass.
September 20, 2011 at 16:54 #20282there's the option of sending files there and back if people have some audio programs that work well together. i got cubase and ableton live. then someone would glue them together and do the mix.
September 20, 2011 at 19:41 #20283Do you need vocals?I cant play any instruments for shit, but i have a decent voice(not worse than Bent or Snah anyways.Haha) and motorpsycho has been my main consern since 93.I also live in Oslo,i work at Det Norske teater and we can maybe play there in the basement…
September 21, 2011 at 06:42 #20284Nice suggestion TraktorB! I'd love to contribute. I play guitar and mandolin as well as keyboard to a certain extent(all the mellotron stuff should OK), and also sing decently (could e.g. do second voice). I guess my enthusiasm is larger than my musical capabilities, but a lot of the material should be within reach. I've also always wanted to play "Starless" by KC – maybe this would be the perfect opportunity?
September 21, 2011 at 07:15 #20285https://www.dropbox.com/ is very good for collaborating on songs, free/cheap.
September 21, 2011 at 09:04 #20286oh nice. So I put versions of Kill Some Day in the dropbox if anyone's interested.
The drums were programmed, so this makes it a bit mechanical but also steady in time, meaning the bass only track can be used for a drummer at a click time of 185.19 (don't ask why it's such an odd number…), especially considering the pause and sudden impact towards the end of the song.
Also I didn't do a fade out but a rather "live" proper ending.
no vocals: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/42504552/kill%20some%20day_no_vocals.wav
no leadguitars: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/42504552/kill%20some%20day_no_vocals_no_leadguitars.wav
no any guitars: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/42504552/kill%20some%20day_no_vocals_no_guitars.wav
bass only: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/42504552/kill%20some%20day_bass_only.wav
September 21, 2011 at 09:07 #20287I also could do this with Watersound if desired.
September 21, 2011 at 09:52 #20288Emily and gusse: Cool, then we need a drummer, I guess! Anyone?
