Whatever one thinks of Billy Corgan and his music: here's a VERY good read with him making some VERY good – I'd even say IMPORTANT – remarks about the state of music reception, peer pressure and mostly about the disputable terms and criterias of valuation put forth by some people.

October 4, 2012 at 15:25 #12879Hey everybody,
two weeks ago, I saw a concert which was a wonderful experience that I like to tell you about. I saw Leonard Cohen, and it was the first time for me. Before the show I was a little afraid that it might turn out somewhat detached, expressionless or dull because that guy's been about for such a long time. But hell, no! It was one of the most intense and emotional gigs I've ever attended (though obviously in a completely different way than MP-gigs are)! The man is 77 years old is still surrounded by a magical aura. The show lasted more than three (!) hours and contained a good mixture of his recent stuff (which I'm not familiar with) and his old hits (which I love). There were roughly 12.000 people in the venue and despite that hardly any blabbering. Highlights were – among many other – "Famous Blue Raincoat", "The Partisan" and of course "Hallelujah". During the latter, a lot of the people joined in singing which sent shivers down my spine. It was an absolutely fantastic experience which I'll remember for the rest of my life.

A: 2 Fuzzbasses.
MEGACHURCH
A fantastic band. Just drums, and 2 bassplayers.
October 9, 2012 at 11:46 #12881Did anyone mentioned the new elephant9?
Elephant9 with Reine Fiske – Atlantis
Quiete awesome!
October 9, 2012 at 12:41 #12882yeah, it's great but very expansive…there's also a nice new record from australia's tame impala called "lonerism"…maybe something for you, holle?
October 9, 2012 at 14:10 #12883Elephant9 can absolutely be recommended. Check it out.
They played an absolutely earblowing gig here in Trondheim two weeks ago, with a complete Motorpsycho lineup enjoying themselves in the audience (except of course Ståle, who was ruling the stage with authority).
Some pictures and a review here.
