interesting thread! I discovered Motorpsycho in 2010 completely by accident when I saw the cover of Heavy Metal Fruit and thought "this looks like an album I would enjoy" and it wasn't but a couple of minutes into Starhammer and I was a fan…. however, the back catalog was definitely overwhelming and it has taken me really until now to properly digest and absorb MOST of it, and a lot of it is still pretty fresh for me! For example even though I would count The Tower and Heavy Metal Fruit as my two favorites, my current obsession is Angels And Daemons At Play which I can't seem to get enough of.

Supersonic Scientists (both the album and the book) helped a lot with recognizing the massive scope of what this band has accomplished, and also helped me dive into the back catalog in a non-sequential way, bouncing around from era to era not always expecting but always enjoying what I was hearing. As someone who spent most of their teenage years in the 90's as a rabid music fan, record store employee, fledgling musician, etc, Motorpsycho should have been one of my favorite bands for the past 25 years, but, I was in America, so how was I to know? Plus, I actually remember getting the promo for that shitty American Motorpsycho back in my record store days, so the name was associated with that in my mind for a long time….

At this point, I'm just thankful that I've discovered this band when I did, and now am trying to make up for all the lost time! There are so many bands and albums that I love, but for at least the past 6 months, 75% of my listening has been Motorpsycho, I have become obsessively hooked, and foresee no burnout. My aim now is to make it over to Europe for a couple of shows so I can witness the live experience in person!
