?? Why shouldn't they do what is right in their opinion? They chose an excellent drummer after Kenneth left the band which could have also caused the end of Motorpsycho. They can do whatever they want to. Why not?
January 8, 2017 at 17:07 #29917They lost the best drummer in the world (Kenneth) and he will forever be sorely missed, Just like Geb. And luckily they were able to replace him with the best drummer in the world (Tomas).
They are both amazing drummers, but different – and thanks a lot for that.
And thanks to Tomas for saying that he will go to the job to do it his own way. That's the only way to do it in this band.
Btw, Kenneth will be touring Europe with Spidergawd in a few weeks. He is just as amazing as ever, and the same likable person as ever also. Go see them if you get the chance.
January 8, 2017 at 18:45 #29918Well, doglicksman, what's not to be positive about here? Motorpsycho goes on, that's enough for me to be happy about for now (and I haven't even had the time to check this partysweed out yet.).
But for a time there, it sure didn't seem like a sure thing that we would have more gigs and records to look forward to, so I don't get the reason for the negativity in your posts. Let's just see (and hear) what's coming first, right?
And there was nothing in that interview that gave me the impression that he has an "attitude problem". Your posts on the other hand..
January 9, 2017 at 11:15 #29919Like the Captain and ThorEgil said, we couldn't be sure if there even will be more Motorpsycho. Now they replaced the best drummer with the best drummer (here I trust the judgement of those in the know) and whatever Thomas' attitude or mindset is, it's obviously no problem for Bent and Snah. Maybe it's even welcome to them, I assume do they talk about these things. So why should we outsiders have any attitude about something completely unknown to us?
January 9, 2017 at 11:55 #29920I think we just have to trust Mr. Sæther and Mr. Ryan to do what suits their progress best.
January 9, 2017 at 18:26 #29921Quote:Ah, I see. No dissidents allowed.Asking questions and being a bit realistic or cautious about a major change is frowned up. Everybody agrees that the new drummer is the best thing that has ever happened, fare thee well to Kenneth (we never liked you anyway) and the next all percussive afro beat album is of course already declared album of the year all across the site, eh. On vinyl that will be sent out a few weeks after release date (still waiting for my AADAP thing on that subject).
Then again maybe you guys know the band personally and do not want any sour grapes (or memberberries) to spoil that relation. Totally understandable. A bit weak maybe, but that is modern life for ya. Have a nice one.
Not sure about who has a attitude problem here….
There has been plenty of disagreements in this forum about musical directions, formats etc. Even the thread starter in this very thread is a skeptical about the new drummer ( but without sounding like a douche).
About Kenneth, he seems to have quite a big star in here, who put his OWN personal stamp on the sound, and will be missed by quite a lot of psychonauts. I personally hope the new drummer do the same, bring his own style with him that is. And judging his previous bands and musical escapades, I think this will be a good match. Hence my optimism. All percussive afrobeat album, now that would be very interesting, but seriously??
Also, when I pre-order, the record has always shows up prior to the release date, and whats wrong with BH/BC?

March 8, 2017 at 17:04 #29924Yeah!! Look at that: https://www.instagram.com/p/BRXcOR4DjUs/ Stickman shared it and wrote: The Boys in LA Recording Right Now!!! Its gonna be the best Motorpsycho record ever….
March 8, 2017 at 21:25 #29925Be aware that the quote comes from a source close to the band and not Stickman, they only shared the post published by "In the family" on Facebook.
It seems very promising indeed though :MPD:
Early morning update: they posted it themselves on Instagram :STG:
March 9, 2017 at 07:53 #29926March 9, 2017 at 07:59 #29927@Tomcat: Yes, but I was aware of that. I would not think that Stickman would not share something thats not trustworthy, even Tomas Järmyr posted it with the Hashtag #Motorpsycho
And now even officially confirmed. Yihahh!!
March 9, 2017 at 08:29 #29928I was more reffering to the euphoric quote (which came from the Norwegian Pysconaut behind mp-inthefamily, and not Stickman; but we can obviously Trust Him )
March 9, 2017 at 09:17 #29929Allright! Now that's good news! I am very curious about their next step.
Why LA? Which studio? Who's producing? Does this mean that finally something is happening in the USA? Tour? Record deal? Rick Rubin? Questions, questions…
March 9, 2017 at 09:47 #29930An earlier picture from Tomas looks very much like it's from White Buffalo studio, where Sugarfoot also mixed their next album last autumn. Bent must have liked it there.
