I wondered that too although i can't imagine Geb coming back to the band.

About a new Roadwork: Always a good idea. I would really like a Roadwork of the last tour, including:

      Feedtime

      Watersound

      Through the Veil

      HBM2

      Spin, Spin, Spin

I guess these days their minds are set to the future, not to dwell in the past…

We'll see what the future brings. As some have written before, I agree that they are somewhat stuck at the moment and maybe Kenneth sensed that Motorpsycho is not the vehicle to go to new places anymore. However, the good thing is that this creative cul-de-sac is not due to a lack of quality or good song ideas, but to the mere fact that they have explored and mastered pretty much every shade of rock music. Just remember the wild discussions in the forum when Geb left and how he can never be replaced. Of course, Geb could not be replaced, but the way Kenneth gave the band a new twist and propelled it to new heights is an absolute miracle. I mean, how often does it occur that a band undergoes such a transformation, being able to have a second career – becoming something new while holding firmly to its core trademarks. Of course, a return of Geb would be a real fanbase-pleaser, but I am pretty sure that this would be a too nostalgic move for BentSnah's understanding of what music should be.

I like the mentioned idea of a stripped down acoustic-album – they never did that on a whole album, so why not.

Personally, I would also be really curious how the sound would be if Bent and Snah switched instruments. That might be pretty cool :STG:

                    Quote:
                    Time for an update!

As you all know we introduced Hallvard Gaardløs aka. The Kid on bass for the Spidergawd III release tour, as Bent was busy with Motorpsycho work.

Well, there is no sign of less work for both bands in the future, so after three albums with Bent we now introduce Hallvard The kid Gaardløs as the new bassplayer in Spidergawd!

For those who did'nt meet the bass prodigy from Toten, Norway, yet definatley have something to look forward to. Not only is he an excellent musician, but also the most charming kid ever.

We're sure he'd be happy for a little welcome applause.

That said, we'd like to thank Bent for all the great music we've made together, all the fun tours and gigs we've laughed our way through, and, as we always state; made it possible for Spidergawd to reach out to all of you in such a short time.

We will drink an underberg on that one soon enough.

                    – Spidergawd

I like this: "Well, there is no sign of less work for both bands in the future…" I guess the theatergig is a sign of "no sign of less work", but still, jey!

Spidergawd can lose Bent without losing any momentum, but would be nothing, NOTHING I TELL YOU, without KK. I guess one of Bents biggest contributions was Spidergawds quick access to a lot of mp fans ;)

And Motorpsycho will do just fine without Kapstad… :STG:

Its not a surprise, between the three bands and family life something had to go. Toward Spidergawd I think he had committed himself to three album. Oh well life will go on and its not the end of the world.

Well, it is the end of this Drum/Bass combi now

I really don't understand statements like this:

somewhat stuck at the moment and maybe Kenneth sensed that Motorpsycho is not the vehicle to go to new places anymore.

With unique records as Unicorn, For Folk Flest, LLM and HBM1&2, The Carte Blanche series and future work like music for Tiller and Trøndelag teater it must be something I dont get. Care to explain?

I agree with Mikke. I have no idea what the real reason is Kenneth left. A lot of speculation but no statement from Kenneth nor the band as for why he actualy left.

Sure, no problem – although i think that my post as a whole properly explains how this specific line is to be understood in context. As you and I mentioned, the Kenneth era led to some exciting musical developments and brilliant albums like LLM, HMF or TDDU. Exploring new territory has always been an integral part of Motorpsycho, but since around "Still Life with Eggplant" it appears as if there are no more blank spots on the musical map for the boys to discover. They have been everywhere, they have done everything, so they recently started to go to places they have already explored. To be clear, I am not talking about the quality of the songs and albums themselves, but about a certain lack of surprise. All those side projects, special concerts, theater projects are a good indicator that Motorpsycho are still eager to develop and constantly looking for impulses to keep the band exciting. Of course, I don't know about Kenneth's reasons to leave the band but I guess that he must have achieved what he wanted to achieve. It's a brave decision – better now than waiting until things start to become bland. Kenneth has many years of stellar drumming ahead and I think if Motorpsycho were still his perfect vehicle to be creative, he probably would not have left. So, new constellations, new challenges. As much as I am grateful for the past nine years with Mr. Kapstad, I appreciate the change, which I think is necessary for Motorpsycho to be alive and kicking.

It seems this theory was correct:

somewhat stuck at the moment and maybe Kenneth sensed that Motorpsycho is not the vehicle to go to new places anymore.
