Lots of light and shade. Playful and delicate here, massive onslaught there. These 3 Crucible tracks are written for stage and lighting and general kaboom. Those Crimson vibes…! And it was nice to have them play for the first time in the biggest of the 3 concert rooms at the Rote Fabrik. Wasn't sold out though. 15mins before showtime it was scarily empty, but suddenly around (I'm bad at counting crowds) 400-500 people showed up. That bigger room has a proper high level stage and lights and all. And did that stage rumble due to the mooging! I was leaning right at it and I think it shifted a meter ot two.
Mad Sun was slow folksy with bass & drums and 2 acoustic guitars. Bonny Lee was super great. Lux Aeterna! The dynamics! The mellotron/moog/voice choruses! And Bent's bass had to take a serious beating! Reine did amazing leads during "Bro" and others. Tomas kind of saved (that was my impression) a PPP that went a bit too somewhere out there, risking to fall apart, with a let-it-all-loose drumming intermezzo (not a "solo" as the whole band kept playing).
The merch was fun to look at. While other bands set up a table, the MP merch is pretty much a proper shirt and vinyl store with shelves.
It was „granny takes a trip“ what a great song/riff, so happy they played it. The song is in my head since 2 days since the posted one – again. WHAT A Playmood!!!!!!!! Bent
Mad Sun
My favorite setlist so far. Mad Sun!
edited first post, adding granny.
Mad Sun btw was quite different than the released versions. Slower, acoustic. Think that 5 song acoustic opening set they did 2014.
Granny was before PPP.
Bonny Lee –> Spin3.
The Tower after Ptzar.
