@ fillmore: Thanks, interesting. I used Spacebandit's estimate, he writes 500-600 in his notes to the recording.
This review in NOZ (local newspaper) states 600 as attendance. I was surprised to read this and assumed the promoter (the city's cultural department) reported a higher attendance because they could not have this appear to be a flop. Standing in front of the venue when doors opened it seemed a bit odd that we would be seeing Motorpsycho playing to such a small crowd on a Saturday night in their strongest market. 30 minutes after doors there was almost nobody there and it looked like this is going to be a night with 150 fellow psychonauts tops. I did fill up considerably more come show time but like I said, I would be very surprised to learn these were 600 people. Whatever, anyway, it was a great show in an unusual venue, probably as much post-insdustrial as it can get. Papenburg saw a fair share of out-of-the-area visitors so I guess it was worth the investment either way.
