Tomorrow the boys will be playing for these adrenalin junkies. Probably not easy to impress.
June 27, 2013 at 11:05 #24644The guy at 2:14 might like the Blissard songs.
June 27, 2013 at 21:19 #24645Reine Fiske joins them again tonight. Kick-off in ten minutes.
June 28, 2013 at 00:22 #24646The guy at 2:14 may have liked some Blissard songs, but he only got one. I think it went like this:
Year Zero
Hell
August
Vanishing Point
Ãœberwagner
Whip that ghost
Barleycorn
In the Family
Greener
Cornucupia/Go to California
Instrumental
You Lied
—
Hogwash
(1h55m)
Not the best Motorpsycho-show I've ever seen, but still very good. The catchy, snappy songs were better received; the jammy parts less so. For me, the highlights were Barleycorn, Greener and the instrumental they played before You Lied.
Reine Fiske is a great addition. I hope he remains with them for a long time.
June 28, 2013 at 06:15 #24647Thanks for posting the setlist. Is the instrumental the same instrumental which they played in Ã…lesund on June 14th? A recording can be found in the internet so I wonder if you knew this instrumental before and were able to recognize it.
June 28, 2013 at 07:50 #24648Juergen: I did not recognize the instrumental, nor have I heard the Ã…lesund show. Can I describe the song? It was a rather fast and energetic song, if I remember correctly. Other songs were also played at a furious speed, it almost seemed as if Bent had trouble keeping up during Whip that ghost.
June 28, 2013 at 08:00 #24649Thanks for the setlist!
Couple of questions: Did Ãœberwagner include Pilgrim? And did Cornucopia include anything other than Go To California?
June 28, 2013 at 08:12 #24650I'm not sure what was included, but both songs were long, and at least Ãœberwagner included more than what I know from the record. Possibly The Pilgrim, possiblee something else.
This is just between you and me, of course, but I'm not familiar With COTF. Thus, it's hard to say whether there were more extras included than Go to California.
June 28, 2013 at 08:20 #24651Did Ãœberwagner sound like this?
June 28, 2013 at 08:39 #24652I think I'll pretend that I take my job seriously, and not watch that video in my Office. I'll try to watch it tonight.
June 28, 2013 at 09:17 #24653Thanks for the answer, by the way.
I hope you are not too tired being in an office a few hours after the concert.
June 28, 2013 at 10:13 #24654Oh, shut up.
June 30, 2013 at 14:12 #24655A review kulturguffen.blogspot.no
Seems like the adrenalin junkies were rather cowardish when it comes to musical challenges.
June 30, 2013 at 17:23 #24656otherdemon: yes, Ãœberwagner sounded like that.
Some other points the video reminded me of: The stage set-up was quite traditional, with Kenneth in the back, Reine on the left, Bent in the centre, and Snah on the right (as seen from the audience). Reine only played guitar; no mellotron this time. And the five lamps from the video were present also this time-
ThorEgil: Kulturguffen is me, by the way.
