In other words; Heavy Metal Fruit! Just like our beloved band is about to launch upon us. Any thoughts on what’s to come people? Based on the information at hand… Will it be the best of it all, or just another fruit salad? SHARE SHARE!

Well, as an enthusiastic fan of old prog, be that Yes, King Crimson, Caravan, Magma or what have you, I think this has the potential to be the best of it all. I mean. Kapstad is like a modern norwegian Bruford, Bent is already a cross between Chris Squire and Phil Lesh, and Snah, well. Snah is God. This could be the norwegian modern prog rock album to own all norwegian modern prog rock albums.

Meh, I dunno, it could be pretty cool, I’m excited as hell :) LLM was stellar, CotF is amazing at times, and now, with more varied instrumentation, they’re mixing new MP with old MP, good times ahead I’m sure.

I hope you’re right, and judging by the info from the lucky ones that already have heard the album, it really looks promising!

By the way; You’re not the only prog man in here ;) I love the genre, so much that i started playing in a prog-rock band 5 years ago, and i’m still in it. So if you wanna check us out, then do so here ->

One can be sure that when MP goes prog, they choose the right path of the Fragile Krimson, not the one of Porcupine Theaters. So this will be amazing, I have no doubts about this.

@GBD: Cool! I’ve heard the name before. This is pretty good stuff :) What do you play?

@supernaut: I sure hope so. Snah is God, but he doesn’t know it, like Petrucci does.

@ TraktorBass; Camel has a song named Metrognom :) I play organ/mellotron and Theremin + guitar from time to time

I’d never call Heavy Metal Fruit a “prog-rock” effort. It’s not heavy metal, either. It’s a fucking Motorpsycho album, and a good one ! I cannot really compare this to any other Motorpsycho release, it has elements of every album they put out so far yet at the same time nothing sounds really unfamiliar. Some of the impros and instrumental sections have a slightly “jazzy” touch, similar to the jams on the recent tour. The drum sound is really special on this one: flat sounding, 70s style drum mix with a dead sounding, low-tuned snare…. but it’s cool. One of the songs sounds A LOT like Black Sabbath’s “A National Acrobat”. It’s all very 70s sounding….

Grrrrr, it really pisses me off that so many people apparently has heard the album  Cool with the Black Sabbath comparisons, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is my 2nd fav Sabbath album.

January 11th just seems lightyears away….

But to those who have heard the album: Does anyone know if Phoot’s Phlower made it onto the record?
