Many of you are surely aware of the 13 concerts that the American jam-band Phish gave at Madison Square Garden, New York, last July/August. 13 concerts, more than 30 hours, where they didn't repeat ANY single song (a 36 CD limited print is now available somewhere).
Phish and Motorpsycho have a lot of common points, in being jammy, unpredictable, skilled (not mentioning a lot of common inspiration "heroes" like the Dead, Neil Young, LZ or Zappa).
How 'bout something like that "Baker's Dozen" by Motorpsycho?
How many concerts would they be able to set up without any repetition?
Anyone wanna create some scenario or setlist?

If we take the "easy" route and do one concert per album we would have about 30ish concerts, more or less.

If they play 20 songs on every gig than they can play 20 shows in a row without any overlappings.
I don't think that the Madison Square Garden will be booked for these shows, by the way.
At some point we are bound to end up here (if not MSG, so elsewhere). Some of you might want to start saving up. :idea:
Wonder how many Phish fans there are in here? i told Bent about my Phish obsession last time i saw MP and he also thought they where an interesting band.

Phish have spoiled me so badly by setting the gold standard for handling a band's live recordings legacy through real time downloads of tours and shows, webcasts, archive releases, sound, quality and then some. Oh to have something like http://www.livephish.com or their own app/streaming service LP+ for MP, what a dream it would be!
@Phishhead – when Gebhardt finally settled in Florence, he wrote a post with some variation of the "Watch the Uffizi, drive me to Firenze" verse, so I suppose you should count him in!

While I 'm no fan of Phish, I do appreciate the way they do their 'thing', if you will. Pearl Jam, a band I mostly find a total bore, also did some great (for the fans) official bootleg releases of several whole tours, as did their heroes in the Mighty Who. Just too bad it was the modern day version of the latter band…
Anyhow, the model MP should follow and which makes most sense IMO, would of course be that of the Dead. How about a Bent's Picks series where you'd get either the best of compliations of a few dates in a row or entire gigs? Even whole runs would be great for the man with money or a credit card available. Or even better (just to piss off the whining wieners): something closer to latest series of Grateful Dead releases, where you'd pay in advance and get 4 yearly installments from the archives (plus a bonus disc for the trusty subscriber)?

@doglicksman – I think pretty much any appraoch would turn out OK if (a) the material is getting into the hands of the punters and (b) the band make a bit of money.
@fillmore, nowadays I'm totally in the heavy listening of the stuff put on youtube by the user "fromtheaquarius". Which is nothing less than about 1200 (one thousand and two hundred) COMPLETE Phish shows, from 1984 to nowadays. Most of which of "A" sound quality! Something huge and quite surely unique in the history of live recordings and sharing!
Still hoping that someday someone will do something similar for Motorpsycho…
