Today Big Dipper has managed to sell more than 200 copies of a "Jokke & Valentinerne rarities box" with yet undefined content and no set release date. That is more than 200 copies, at NOK 1000,- a piece, in less than one day. Impressive!

So I ust wonder – how many would be interested in crowdfunding a Blissard deluxe Vinyl Box?

…or a Timothys Monster deluxe Vinyl Box, or a Opera Unicorn DVD, or a Cathedral concert DVD or <insert your dream project here>

My dream crowd funded project would be a revitalized Roadworks series. The previously released stuff, including the delux boxes which now seems to form a series, are after all available. This could be an opportunity to see new stuff released, and to get hifi quality live recordings out there. Given the different release conditions this would create, the band might even be tempted to reconsider their very strict release criteria which seems to have slowed the Roadwork series down. This could even be combined with a 'poll': The concert (out of a list) with the most funding would be released (first). That would be power to the people.

      Stop. Crowdfunding.

      Go. To. Work.

      Get. Your. Hands. Dirty.

      Do. Something. Useful.

The Oslo Unicorn Opera was properly filmed btw. At least there were big busy cameras. So that one's a booked one I guess.

Seriously – I think the Blissard Deluxe is fine as a CD set.

I love vinyl and I own Blissard and most of the other tracks on vinyl (the eps) – so the rest is nice to have, but fine on cd.

I'd rather have a translation of the book though… ?

is anybody interested in crowdfunding this ?

There is quite an detailed overview on translations on this page

Hmm, maybe we should consider crowdfunding a "batman" to convince VOW that humanity is best served with them releasing their claws form the early MP works, so we could get som deluxe treatment and vinyl re-release of those masterpieces as well.

Indeed, however I don't believe "batman" is the correct way to success for such a project.

These days everything is about money…

If we get enough money raised we can buy the critical rights from VOW. To avoid bad feelings we could let the rights belong to Psychonauts Foundation or something similar. Then the Foundation let MP use the rights as they wish.

That would indeed be very cool – but I fear that we would need some pretty wealthy psychonauts to buy WOW out… :(

            My suggestions was serious, btw.

I guess I will open a new thread soon.

            cheers

I am pretty wealthy and could buy VOW before you know it… But sorry I need for myself…

OK, so the batman suggestion was just a bad joke. But I have an understanding that this is a problem which can't be solved by throwing money at it. (And I have a feeling that Bent & Co wouldn't like anybody else to throw money at VOW either).

But then, as Waters and Gilmour managed to enter the same stage again after (quite) a few years, there is allways hope.
