I personally am a huge Geb’s fan and like his songs very much.
What are your favorite Geb’s songs?
Mine are:
1. KR-3 Suite [Parts 1 & 2]
2. Never Let Me Out
3. Morning Rain
4. What If
5. When You’re Dead
June 22, 2009 at 12:24 #12541The best song he ever wrote for MP was the Serpentine single B-side, Little Ricky Massenburg. I also like KR3 and When You’re Dead.
June 22, 2009 at 13:24 #125421. Morning Rain (underrated song on an underrated album)
2. Little Ricky Massenburg
3. Theme From The Tussler
4. Never Let You Out
5. When You’re Dead
June 22, 2009 at 13:51 #12543all of the above and “jack r.i.p”, “et.no” and most of all “getting old”.
June 22, 2009 at 21:06 #12544yup, “getting old” is a great one – and i personally think gebs solo album to be quite nice.
btw, if you consider it a “geb song”, you could count in “the nerve tattoo” as he co-wrote that tune, too.
June 23, 2009 at 01:51 #12545Yeah, if we also take into consideration his solo efforts as well as co-credits, than sure et.no, Walkin’ With J., as well as The Nerve Tattoo and Little Ricky are amazing!
June 24, 2009 at 20:11 #12546Little Ricky & Never Let Me Out!
Those are definitely my favorites.
Ooh, now I feel like listening to HGH – Pignoise. What a masterpiece!
June 24, 2009 at 21:32 #12547i don´t like Geb´s songs. except one: “when you´re dead” that one is great!…the rest are “skip”-songs. always!
June 25, 2009 at 01:54 #12548the rest are “skip”-songs. always!
Quote:I’d never think of Geb’s songs as skip-songs. In fact, there are many many Bent’s tradks that are inferior, ans what is good about Geb, and that is my own opinion, is that he has no bad songs at all :MPD:

Walking with J, never let you out… horrible, horrible songs

June 25, 2009 at 12:56 #12551yeah, you too…. :MPD:
December 12, 2009 at 20:39 #12552Hi all,
to return to the topic: I love songs like Little Ricky Massenburg, Morning Rain and The skies are full of wine (co-written with Bent).
And for those talking about skip songs, I think the music of a band is always the result of the chemistry between all band members (at least in really good bands …). I’m sure, that many of the MP songs that are dear to me wouldn’t have existed in a different line up of the band.
Greetings
December 13, 2009 at 12:51 #12553To me Never Let You Out is one of that record’s finest songs. The Barrettish intro and the woohoohooo choirs and that fat bass line, just great.
