hehe kind of an expensive way of getting the new album, but i get your drift. I’ve got a buddy who’s got one of those, so that’s gonna be the way i’ll get to enjoy it.
My way of digitalizing stuff is a tad easier: Just hooking up the line-out of my stereo with the line-in of my PC and start recording with Audacity or whatever.
…hm thinking about it, using an USB player actually is easier. But whatever
Yeah, I do it the same way (line out –> line in) although the line-in of a cheap consumer computer is mostly pretty crappy….
Don’t worry people, a good friend of mine (big fan) got a USB record player from his old folks for his birthday.
He will buy the new album as soon as it’s out and digitize it for his own pleasure! :wink:

That’s right, mr. C-san! I will be buying it double, in case I wear one out. The first play of either one will be for digitisation. Don’t know if I will be sharing it though, I would feel bad with regards to Motorpsycho and their finances AND it will go against their purpose of releasing it as vinyl-only. But I am sure there will be enough people who do not have these objections and/or are not a big wussy like me, so there will be a download available somewhere very soon.

You’re not a big wussy for not wanting to share. I think it would be a big fuck you to the band if this record would be shared digitally. Why do yoy think there is no download option? Just buy it, and make it digital for your own use if you want that, but don’t go sharing their music like that.
So people, please don’t share. Respect the band and just don’t do it. I don’t want to offend anyone, absolutely not. I just think that it would be respectless to the band to share their work without the band making some money out of it.

So people, buy a recordplayer and start enjoying the pleasures of vinyl or else wait for the other new album. Or wait ’till the C.O.T.F. cd comes out.
But it’s not fair to those die-hard fans that rely mostly on their cd- & mp3players for listening to music, if it was my band that pulled a stunt like this I wouldn’t mind if somebody digitized the music for convenience sake and share it among friends.
(I’m not speaking for MP off-course)
By the way, there is a recession and not everyone (with or without a job) want to spend their money on a recordplayer just to be able to listen to this album.
Though there are plenty cheap recordplayers around if you look for them.

Everybody knows that vinyl is the new blue-ray
so it’s respectless if i want to listen to the album while i can’t/don’t want to spend money on a record player?
i fully support the choice of the band to bring it on vinyl, but i am sure that the band is aware that only a few people will buy it, then digitalize and make it available for the rest. i don’t know if they accept, tolerate or even support this and i don’t want to play the judge here, but if the intention of the band was to make money, they would have done it differently. i think it’s just about some sort of nostalgia or stubbornness, they’re children of their time after all (this sentence is not meant in any negative way).
anyway, if there will be a cd, yes, i’ll buy it.

Why not just buy the vinyl, enjoy the artwork and rip it for yourself? There must be someone with a record player around somewhere? I know quite a lot of people with a record player myself.
