Great news, just found out that Kenneth Kapstad en Stain Westerhus (Jagga Jazzist) will be playing a gig in Leeuwarden on november the fifth with the great The Ex. I happen to live in Leeuwarden so that's good news. Anyone who knows Monolithic? The article says they make heavy metalesxplosions with comlex rithmes and lots of guitareffects, which sounds exciting. So, who's going?

Monolithic is het levende bewijs dat een duo net zo laag, gruizig en intensief kan klinken als een volledige metalband. De gitarist van Jaga Jazzist, Stain Westerhus, en de drummer van Motorpsycho, Kenneth Kapstad, veroorzaken met zijn twee�n een experimentele, zware metalexplosie vol complexe ritmes en volgestouwd met gitaareffecten. The Ex heeft zich in 25 jaar gevormd tot een melting-pot van muziekstijlen: noise, rock, jazz en wereldmuziek zijn samengeweven tot een unicum: 'Ex-music'. Ritmische gitaren, bijna Afrikaanse drums, heel intens en met teksten bol van de ironie: The Ex heeft een speciaal karakter. Meer dan twintig albums en 1371 concerten sinds het allereerste begin staat deze band nog steeds met hart en ziel te spelen.
Ab Baars belichaamt het beste van wat de specifiek Nederlandse geimproviseerde muziek te bieden heeft, aldus de Volkskrant. De saxofonist, die ook clarinet en shakuhachi speelt, is bekend van het Ab Baars trio, Duo Baars-Henneman en het ICP-orkest. De muziek van deze fenomenale muzikant is catchy, obstinaat, kleurrijk en aantrekkelijk. Voordat hij vrijdag 5 november bij Podium Asteriks staat, speelt hij ook nog in het Bimhuis, Ne�rlands meest prestigieuze podium voor jazz en improvisatiemuziek.

This looks cool. I live in Groningen, guess ill attend this concert, aint far from here. Im up for a beer before, under and prob after concert if anyone is in.
Now that was intense. Spacey guitarscapes and deathdefyingbrütalmetal with probably the fastest double bassdrum I've ever heard. They were the opening act last night, played for hmmmm say somewhat around 50min. Good fun.
Man, i am so looking forward to this evening. If anyone needs a place to sleep btw, just let me know. I have lots of space.
