The band's second Spanish tour begins today in Bilbao:

      14.04.2011 – Barcelona, Rocksound (ES)

      15.04.2011 – Murcia, 12 & Medio (ES) + Schwarz

16.04.2011 – Madrid, El Sol (ES) + Moongardening Inc.

Who is going and will provide us with setlists, notes and pictures from the concerts? ;-)

And who attended the first Spanish tour back in 2002 and can share some memories and/or pictures? Please e-mail me at mpnews@motorgigs.org if you want to contribute! Thank you!

Notes: The first concert of Motorpsycho's second tour in Spain after the band had first toured the country in 2002. A concert was booked for Bilbao in 2002 too but the show was canceled the day of the show due to poor ticket sales so this is Motorpsycho's first appearance in this relaxed city. Azkena is a small bar with a small stage and a famillial vibe. The audience is relaxed and the band plays a "trance rock" set. There is no encore due to a curfew at the venue. The inclusion of "Hallucifuge" is unconfirmed, a sms-report says "Hallucifuge (? Bent)" and the setlist states an unknown number in this slot. "Go To California" was the last time played in Trondheim 19.12.2008 (late show).

Yeah, it is. So it could be maybe The Other Fool or The Other Other Fool.

Or it could be something entirely different

But Heidi, our sms setlist reporter, would have recognised those songs for sure…

The Other One by Grateful Dead, perhaps? They've done that one before, right?

Ah ok. Then I'm not sure what they mean about "Ainnar'n"

                Hallucifuge, it is then.

Of course, Ratmaus! Now that is an intreguing thought! They never did a stand-alone version of "The other one", only inside "My best friend" and "Cornucopia". Btw, the Dead have a song called "High time" too and with "Go To California" as next song… hmmm…? :-)

"The Other" could also be a working title for a yet-unnamed new song.

Glad they got to finally play Bilbao but I wish they were heading to Roadburn right now instead of Barca!

Found a nice preview for the Murcia concert here

And here's the magic  of Google Translate:

Tonight begins the Motorpsycho awaited tour of our country, which made only four concerts. Accustomed to playing before thousands of people in other European nations, its status unknown in our country, where his records are not, gives us the chance to enjoy nearly unclassifiable rock these Norwegians and their impressive live more than 20 years tradition. One of the quotes will be in room 12 & half of Murcia, also accompanied by the sizzling Schwarz.

You engrossed in a multitude of praise for his extensive and varied discography and in the goodness of its staging, but before a special occasion like this I preferred to give the floor to some of his followers and flipping a clear and simple question: Why you should not miss Motorpsycho concert?

René Esquer (Pinchadiscos Hypocrites): "Because it is rock Champions League because it is the best antidote to Easter, because the end of the world is near and it is probably the only chance we have to see them live … in Seriously, it is one of the best rock bands in the world. "

Antonio Tomás (# Fo): "For whatever kind of music you like, Motorpsycho have made at least one great song like that will leave you picueto."

José Ángel Gómez (October): "Because we enjoy in a place with an amazing sound and optimum capacity to be well at ease. Pop-Rock-Western-Progressive-Jazz … and a lot of psych!"

Larry Sandoval (Student Larry): "If you like to be combed at a concert, this is a good time. Moreover, almost certainly not going to see them again in this land, at least in a small enclosure. We smell his shampoo melenazas. "

Paco Larrosa (12 & a half, La Yesería): "They are one of the best European bands of the past 20 years, because they are amazing live, because throughout his career have only once come to Spain, because they touch Schwarz openers and finally, because I do not want anyone to tell it and I pricked the conscience for years for not going. "

Angel Perni (October): "To enjoy and Hyenas!"

Apparently tonight's concert in Barcelona has been moved to a new venue due to technical problems. The concert will now take place at La Ovella Negra (Zamora, 78, esquina Pallars).

This is the new location: http://www.ovellanegra.com/es/grup/megataverna.asp

Sure looks like a tourist trap and the cave-like hall does not look as if it would create a good sounding enviroment…
