The Legendary Flower Punk -2019 – Wabi Wu

Relatively new album by amazing instrumental/psychedelic/jam/fusion band from St.Petersburg (Russia).

Really good stuff! If you don't trust me, read some reviews on bandcamp page, or just press Play button there :).

Their Europian tour planned for this spring was (obviously) cancelled, so they come up with virtual tour idea and recorded 16 different sets (!) in the rehearsal room just before the lockdown.

Now these shows are released here almost on daily basis: https://theflowerpot.bandcamp.com/ – nice way to spend some quarantine time.

BTW, the guitarist in this band is also the leader of The Grand Astoria (band, that was mentioned on the previous page of this thread).

Shaman Elephant is a Norwegian Psychedelic Prog Rock band.

Psychedelic, progressive, hard-hitting and melodic are all concepts that can be put into this crucible of a rock band.

The latest Shaman Elephant is on heavy rotation for weeks now over here. Great piece of work – many motorpsycho moments without being annoying, and so "young & fresh" at the same time. Recommended. Start with Side B, what a great ride!

I just stumbled across Red Kite, whose debut was released in 2019. For those who don't know them, the band's blurb reads:

                    Quote:
Concocting a head-rush tempest of swirling psychedelia, heavy rock crunch, prog virtuosity and free-jazz experimentation, Norwegian jazz-rock power quartet Red Kite releases its highly anticipated self-titled debut via RareNoiseRecords. The exploratory and electrifying supergroup features members of some of Norway’s best-known prog outfits, including Elephant9, Shining, Bushman’s Revenge and Grand General.

                    Here's the Bandcamp link.

Fantastic album, so weird they were not noticed more widely.

Epic jam session by Jonas Munk (Causa Sui), Brian Ellis (Astra, Psicomagia) + musicians from other amazing San Diego bands!

…On this session Denmark's Jonas Munk (Causa Sui) joins forces with San Diego native Brian Ellis (who's not only a prime mover in the psychedelic scene, but has also been active in California's jazz and funk circuits for several years), and an assemblage of prime musicians from the area, including members of Astra, Psicomagia, Monarch, Radio Moscow and Sacri Monti…

The whole El Paraiso collection is epic. They haven't released a bad album.

The Rudd/Skott duo is very good as well although already OOP.

Jakob Skott is also a great designer, and his solo albums are all of high quality, particularly "Taurus Rising".

Also Mythic Sunship releases are all 5 stars to me.

Not a new artist, but a new band in that she has put together a sextet, Helvig Mollestad-Thomassen's new album "Ekhidna" is fantastic. Like Red Kite it also features Torsten Lofthus.

Something old but new: Nick Mason‘s Saucerful of Secrets Live at the Roundhouse. For everyone who loves early Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd. Released as music only on vinyl or as a 3-disc concert film. Just blew me away

As I read in some review: Do you really need just another live recording of Astronomy Domine? Yes, this one you need.
