Hi there,
so I thought I’d post my list of my 50 favourite albums from the past decade here, as I might get some discussion.
By default I’ve might forgotten some in this list; I definitively haven’t heard all records, so the list is by no means comprensive either, and further more it’s absolutely personal. It’s also not listed from 1. – 50. but rather year after year. I know its some work but I’d like you people to work up some lists. Also, once you got enough material you will find that 50 is actually an awfully small number.
Anyway, here goes:

October 16, 2009 at 12:12 #13857No offense jtr but I’d rather listen to Celtic Frost’s Monotheist for 10 years non-stop than be subjected to most of the other choices on that list!
In fact, weren’t Tocotronic ritually sacrificed during the last CF tour…?
October 16, 2009 at 12:42 #13858Glaring omission:
Mastodon – Crack The Skye
One of the most amazing rock albums made in history of mankind.

October 16, 2009 at 16:08 #13860@LLM: Oh, no offense taken. It’s my personal list and does not need to fit your taste, after all. I’m not your everyday hard rock/metal listener, I like maintaining wide tastes, as you can see probably by the inclusion of several Pet Shop Boys albums and other pop alongside experimental stuff like Squarepusher or suicidal depressive black metal like Shining (again, the Swedish band, not the Norwegian one).
I still, however, advice anyone, who might be repelled by the names in the list, without having heard the actual music, to give it a try without a forebuilt opinion (even if that’s not easy, yes), you might like some of them. They all have wonderful melodies splattered all over them.
@harry: hah, I like someone loved Phanerothyme as much as I did.
@Vegard: Well, omission…never heard that record. Perhaps I’ll give it a spin
@GBD: I’m glad somebody else made a whole list. You got some great records in there too of course!
â€â€
I just realized a REAL omission in my list. Let them eat Cake. If I recall correctly, it was released in 2000, right? So you might interchange that with “A Girl Called Eddy”.
