Since most of you are not just dedicated psychonauts but probably interested in live music in general, I’d like to let you in on my own little project. For ten years now a couple of friends and I have been organizing the Appletree Garden Festival in our home town Diepholz (between Bremen and Osnabrück)in the north of Germany.

When you grow up in a place like that you either have to give in to the dull rural life style between binge drinking, “Schützenfeste” (shooting club parties?) and the average chart-hits club, or you have to come up with your own alternatives. So, when the only alternative rock club (which used to play a lot of MP) was shut down in early 2000 the idea was born: we decided to celebrate original hand-made music by holding an outdoor summer party with a very small stage giving local bands a chance to play. We planned it as one-time event but it was a great night, so we did it again the following year. And so on.

Meanwhile the whole thing has grown a lot and last year 2000 people from all over the country visited the Appletree. In the early years we used to have a great variety of music styles from metal over hard rock and indie to reggae and electronic stuff. With growing populartíty the line-ups have become more focused and popular and less underground, so the bands we have nowadays vary between indie, pop, rock, elctronica and singer/song writer stuff. I don’t know if you guys are interested in that kinda stuff but it’s a very nice (and cheap) event with a fantastic atmosphere in a beautiful location! So, I’d like you to have a look and invite you to join our 10th anniversary on the 23rd and 24th of July:
