This is a bit off topic. During Supersilents concert at Molde Jazz festival this summer, they played most parts of Godspeed You! Black Emperors song “east hastings”. Very cool indeed – seing Arve Henriksen banging on the drums and Helge Sten/Deathprod rocking hard on a Fender Stratocaster. I’m not 100% sure about this, but if not, they’ve managed to write a totally identical song.
cool! I saw Helge Sten at Rockefeller the last time Godspeed played there, so he might be a fan.
That might just be so yes. Fantastic band Godspeed. And Supersilent even better. The new album, 9, is awesome. Hammond organs.
sounds great. east hastings, nice.
Godspeed You is one of my favorite bands… East Hastings (an edited version) was also used on the soundtrack of 28 Days Later:

A great movie and the track fits the scene it goes with very well…
