I think it would be nice to have a topic for album spoilers in which only curious people will put their nose!

So, put here your spoilers.

I start with one I didn't see anywhere:

"Through the Veil" is "Neanderthal".

"Into the Gyre" has the subtitle "(featuring The Acoustic Psalmon and The Maelstrom)" (see inside booklet). "The Acoustic Psalmon" is the same melody as the quiet intro to Starhammer (there called "The Electric Psalmon").

Also, I can't hear anything they played in Nidarosdomen on this record. Makes me speculate that the next record could also be with Ståle, if they decide to record a studio version of that epic piece of music.

Indeed, the Nidarosdomen gig is very different from Unicorn.

Actually, I've heard at least one riff/melody that was in Nidarosdomen/Oslo. The riff that starts at approx 6:00 of Into The Mystic did appear in Nidarosdomen and Oslo (quite early on in the gig after opening improvs). It was however slower and in a different key, but it was the same structure. EDIT: It also appears a few times in The Hollow Lands which share lotsa parts with Into The Mystic.

I've only heard CD2 on the 3Voor12 stream though, so can't say anything about CD1.

But it was mentioned that some of the music for Nidarosdomen and Oslo was esspecially written for those performances.

"la lethe" reminds me a lot of mars volta, especially "frances the mute"…now it makes sense that the band was spotted at a mars volta gig…
