    Hi all

I know this is totally OT, but here’s a link for a promo I’ve made for a comedy show I’m writing and I would really like some feedback (and, let’s be honest, YouTube views) and what better people to ask then those with a great taste in music!

I am particularly interested to know what jokes made you laugh the hardest (if any) and, more importantly, if you think the very australianess of the show would transfer to your part of the world.

If I am overstepping my boundaries here, let me know and I’ll remove the post.

    Hope you like it. Enjoy!

    Cheers

Well made. Obvious professional standards. Great main character. My fave bits are the deal with Dennis and the community inspiration thing. I don’t know about the Australianess but clichés probably always work when done well and knowingly, but here we might miss some inside jokes. :-)

Thanks Supernaut. Much appreciated! I guess there are no ‘inside jokes’ per say, more certain cultural connotations which won’t translate directly, like gavin’s choice of apparel and the sport/sportsteam he supports, and his choice if beer.

Again, thanks for the feedback. Would you watch this if it was on your TV?

      Cheers

      G’Day mate!

I had to laugh at the ‘Pump up a strangers tires’ bit.

      (timing and deliverance)

Here in Holland we have coffee-shops plus the occasional house dealer where you can buy your s#!t so we maybe handle different standards for weed dealing than the Aussie’s might do (plus a different sense of humor).

Well, Oz converted to the metric system so we might not be so different at all 8O

We mainly have some Dutch bizarre comedy series here on tv:

‘New kids on the block’, ‘Draadstaal’, ‘Toren C’ and British series like ‘The Fast Show’.

The house-dealers I knew in my ‘erb-rollie days were quite some characters, some of them could write a book of funny, interesting and sometimes incoherent stories about music, conspiracy theories, UFO’s and days long gone when they still had the major mass of their braincells left, indeed: they got high from their own supply!

Australian sports-team jokes won’t always fly, for example, we don’t have Footy (Australian rules football) here.

Beer is appreciated everywhere despite difference in brands, we all like our coldie.

But I would have to say that you better stay to your ridgy-didge Oz-roots, if it makes you laugh it probably make somebody else laugh :!:

      Australian for beginners?

Not dinky-di yet but you are well on your way!

Better then most programs on the telly.

      But hey!

Who am I to say what’s funny!

      Comedy is a serious business.

I’m not funny, I like fart jokes (I laugh at my own farts but please don’t tell anybody!) I use those bleeding :D as a way of explaining myself and I had to consult the Australian slang dictionary for the lingo…

      Keep up the good work!

I’ve got only a handful of fave shows I watch regularly. I guess I’d watch yours. It’s way above MTV “humour”.
