Dunno about you folks, but I don't own an LP player and thus have never heard lots of the LP-only MP songs. But for other's in the same situation, there's this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isupxZ4zKcA. Both sides of the x-3 7", and the first time I've heard the studio version of Boinganoid.
Now, to find something similar with Visitant/Eagle's Son…
Thanks for posting this, TAF. I have heard these, but not very often because they're obviously not on my i-pod (wish I knew how to get them on there!). Love that crazy, relentless riffing in Boinganoid!
You're welcome! Personally I'd never heard Boinganoid outside of a live video on Youtube from last spring tour. The whole rhythm of that song is just wild.
I still haven't heard the other single, The Visitant, is it out there somewhere?
Wow, that is a pretty good looking record player. I can't help you out with The Visitant. I don't think you really miss out on anything though. The only really disapointing song they released in years if you ask me.
Yeah, The Visitant is basically a very bland, inferior version of ICU (Boinganoid) imho. The b-side however, the cover of Eagle's Son is pretty damn good.
has someone digitalized versions of these songs? i own both singles but can't listen to them anymore due to a broken amp…
btw the record player above seems to be a "project" one i think
Agreed, otherdemon. I was disappointed with The Visitant when I first heard it – just a simplistic, straightforward verse-chorus-verse type song, without memorable hooks.
Eagle's Son however – damn! The Berlin version from last spring is just one of the most mindblowing grooves ever!
The turntable is a music hall mmf9.1 turntabel. I have the smaller one: mmf 5.1. Great stuff, but the 9.1. is really too expensive…
Have a look:
