      Hi supernaut, thank you!

But the website doesn't contain links to the recording. This isn't a torrent website.

The DB website only shows if there is a recording available or not.

Ho ho ho, merry Christmas to you all !

We've worked very hard the last couple of weeks to get all the database in the database and do quality checks. Now we can officially present you the MPDB: https://mpdb.space/

Filter functionalities on the gig page

There are two types of filters. One type that narrows down the results and the other one widens the results. You can use all the filters in combination with each other.

The filters options “talk” with each other. So if you choose Belgium, the venue filter will only show Belgian gigs.

Country: this one widens the results. For example, you can select Germany and Belgium. So the result will be Germans and Belgian gigs.

City: the same goes for this filter option. This one widens the results.

Venue: widens the results. If a venue has changed its name during the year. These multiple names will be shown as a separate venue.

        Year: widens the results.

Date range: You can choose a start and end date. This narrows down the gigs.

Songs: You are able to type the songs in the input area and select them. It’s possible to select multiple songs. All the gigs of this selection will show up. You can use this in combination with all the other filter options. For example, you want to show all the gigs where Motorpsycho played S.T.G. and Greener in The Netherlands.

Recording available: due to the hard work of our tapers, there are a lot of recordings available on Motortrades and Dime. This filter option gives you an overview of which gigs are recorded.

Video(s) available: There are nice videos made during the years. Thanks to Bernie, all of these videos are collected on http://www.motorpsychodelicclips.com/. If you select this option, you’ll get the gigs where there are video’s added to that specific on this website.

        Tour / year stats

You can get tour/year statistics by going to the specific gig and click on ‘tour stats’ underneath the date and location.

        Songs

You are able to see which songs are played and how many times during that specific year. If you click on the graph, you’ll get an overview of the gigs where that song was played.

        Releases

This shows you all the albums of which songs were played during this year.

        Avg. setlist

This is an automatically generated setlist that contains the most played songs of that year. The number of songs on that setlist is the average of played songs over that year.

Next step of this project is adding names to the tour. So the 2019 tour is The Crucible tour.

What gigs are added to the DB?

This website contains all the Motorpsycho performances, including radio performances, … The Tussler shows aren’t on this website, since The International Tussler Society isn’t Motorpsycho.

        Get personal statistics

When you have an account on this website, you can add gigs to it. In order to get an account, click on the login link in the top right corner and then click on the register link. If you're registration gets approved, you are able to log-in. I'll do my best to approve the registrations as quick as possible.

If you add attended gigs to your account, you’ll be able to see how many gigs you’ve added, how many songs you’ve heard, how many unique songs, …

Also later on, more statistics will be shown.

        New features

If you have an idea about an interesting feature, feel free to contact us on contact[at]mpdb.space We’ll see what we can do and if it is doable to implement into the site.

        Mistakes on the website

It was a massive work to put all the gigs and songs into the database. But we’ve finally did it 🙂 Due to the massive amount of songs, it’s possible that there are mistakes. If you see a mistake, please let us know: contact[at]mpdb.space

        Happy holidays !

        Cheers,

        Dennis, Ingo and Jürgen.

Hi @Bionaut, the extra fields for images won't be a problem. But there can be an issue if we use these images on the website. We must have the rights of the photographer to put the images on the website. I have to check it out what's legally possible :-)

There will be a field to see if there is a recording available. The field isn't visible yet, but it's already there ;-)

The number of tables: many tables (about 70) – it's a custom WordPress website. But not all these tables contain data for the songs, gigs, … that's about 5 or 6 tables.

I will check out the Black Crowes website for some idea. Thanks !

At this moment, we are working at high speed on this website. Already 740 gigs in the database. Still need to do 300, but we're getting there :STG:

If everything is ready, everyone can have an account to add there attended gigs to their account. Then you'll be able to see which songs you've heard and some other cool statistics.

This website is a project that will grow continiously. Hopefully there won't be any errors, but if there are, please let us now. Later on this week, I'll add an "Error" button on the gig detail page. If there's an error, just click on it and we'll fix it.

Thank you man ! Very awesome.

Is it okay if I add the video to the upcoming database website mpdb.space ?

Small update about the progress: We've already put +400 gigs into the database.

The functionality of having your own "account" to add your attended setlists is ready. But it will be open for public if all the setlist are added. You'll be able to see which songs and how many times and where you've heard it.

I've also updated the Stats page with countries and cities.

You can also sort the songs on the song page.

About the layout: this is the first layout. When all the gigs are added, the layout will probably change slightly to improve the user experience.

Quick question: does anyone know what the song "Swiss Cheese Mountain" is?

It was played on the following gig: https://mpdb.space/gig/1997/05/18/geneva-ptr/

I know that "Swiss Cheese Mountain" is a part of Hell, but is that the same song they've played in 1997?

What a gift ! And it isn't even Christmas yet. Thank you very much Bernie.

Really nice documentary. Going to see it again this evening with some friends. I hope I can "transform" them into psychonauts

Does anyone know what brand of guitar Snah is using during Starhammer (18:00) ?

It doesn't look like a Stavem or Gibson.

                      Alright.

But it's still going to take a while when this is done.

I'm now going to start on year 1997 :D

Alright guys, thanks for the input.

I also did a major update on the website. Some more statistics are shown on the website.

And you are also able to see which songs (and the total number) you've heard if you add gigs to your account.

You can only add gigs if your logged in.

When all the setlists are added, I will open the registration for public. But that's still going to take a while, because it's a lot of work to add them all.

Okay, you got a point over there. Ofcourse we must be consequent in the namings. So we are going to choose the naming like on the official records. You Lied will be Walking on Water, …

Hogmountspinwash will be used and in the song description will be:

Hogwash > Moutain > Spin Spin Spin > Hogwash so that everyone will understand what that song is.

                              Thanks for your input Johnny_Heartfield.

Question: What should be do with songs like "You Lied" and "Walking on Water", "Song for a Bro" and "Whip that Ghost"? They are actually the same songs, but they were named differently during the years on theirs setlists. Should be use the official names: Walking on Water and Whip that Ghost?

@mister conclusion, Überpelgrim will be considered as one song. Don’t know yet how I’m going to handle the hog-spin-wash thingies. It’s probably going to be one song due to the complexity
