after listening to the album several times, it grows bigger and bigger to me. the perfect start for springtime. very charming. they leave overwhelmed one more time. looking forward the upcoming shows very much.
@ ivan: yes, it is based on the sunday trane jazz jam from 2001 as mentioned in some thread here.
@un.chien: oh ok, i understand. because the production and the overall feeling is very different to me. much more clear and subtle.
just heared "barleycorn" on the radio. really good song. interesting sound, euphoric vocals.
"hell" is very close to the düsseldorf version in the first part and has a very grand funk railroadish solo part in the middle. the quiet part that ends the song reminds me a bit of the 3rd part from the "whiskey and rock'nroll"-zappanale-version.
I understand well. I guess they just wanted to play free without expectations or boundaries after the Unicorn. And so they do what they do best: Jams, Melodies, Athmosphere… We will see.

saying something like: very hallucinogenic album, with 2 guitarists and psychedelic organ-parts. longer songs kind of prog- and spacerock with jazzy drumfills and basslines. very dynamic. short songs kind of folk, or grooverock with heavy guitars. "ratcatcher" 17min long, "hell" 10 min.
