Schlachthof Bremen has almost always seen outstanding performances by MP!
Sorry, I didn't come here for a while. It's the Spacebandit recording from DIME!
I uploaded
2011-10-17 – Düsseldorf
2012-08-04 – Bad Doberan
2011-10-15 – Eindhoven
2011-03-17 – Trondheim
2011-12-16 – Trondheim
to my Dropbox (in FLAC)
If anybody wants to grab those, drop me a line at goldencore (at) h o tmail. c o m
(I will take the stuff down sooner or later.)
I am uploading some stuff to my Dropbox at the moment as well.
@joecoco: Drop me a line at goldencore (at) hotmail. c o m Maybe I can help you with some gigs.
Quote:I said the "magic flow was missing". [] The disrupted and mixed setlist prevented them from really slipping into the magic zone. There were no transitions between the songs. Instead of a fluent jammy set we got a collection of great individual songs that were all played to perfection.
Hmm, our tastes seem to differ completely! I was so glad that it was NOT just one long jam that noodles one song into the other and in fact I was even glad they didn't play K9 Suite, although I really like that song. For me it was just right to hear SONGS again and not merely sounds. Drug Thing was just so good! I would have really liked the whole Blissard encore the italians got.
I don't know what happened to it. I bet the owner is part of this forum.
I'll have to say that for me the only song that didn't fit the flow of the evening was Whip That Ghost. It's jazzy feel was somewhat misplaced in that hard rocking set.
Bent had to peek at the words for Stained Glass.
Great gig! I am glad, I decided to go in the last moment! Really nice to hear some old gems again. I never thought they'd be that good again after the dreadful unicorn gig.
When U lied started, I thought "Not again!", but that was the best version of the dozens I heard over the years. Really nice guitar play by Fiske. Second guitar player is a good idea in general!
Very good evening!
Stained Glass!
Someone just handed the sound guy a recording device!
Band enters stage at 20:14
First song Year Zero!
That would have been a setlist for me!
It's just a shame, that you get "IALC" as CD.
"Also; musical taste is one of the most subjective things in the universe"
That's, why I pointed that out. I somehow don't understand how someone can "love" TDDU, but I don't have to and just because I don't like the recent albums doesn't mean anything.
@odindahle: I also think that Barleycorn ist the best song on this album, but it doesn't take me back to Trust Us AT ALL.
I know this is somehow difficult, I also wouldn't want just 3 Blissards in a row (althought I would take another Timothy!), but I just don't like what they evolved into. There are so many bands with 1-2 great albums in their beginning and then they "evolve" and it's just pure crap. Fortunately MP has made far more good records than A LOT of other bands in their whole career and they might have played some of the best gigs in the history of rock, but I just can't relate to this prog stuff. For example the "taking apart" of Live Hogwash in the recent years (Can and all that) really ruins this song for me. I like it as a rocker!
TDDU is really a record I would like to erase from their portfolio. I just can't listen to it and the concert I attended was maybe on of the fes concerts in my life, I left before it finished, because I was starting to fall asleep, being bored to death.
As I said in my previous post. It's just a matter of taste and it's useless to complain anyway, but I just miss the feeling to leave a MP gig stunned for quite some time after…
Hmm, I think my "relationship" with MP finally ended. This kind of music just means nothing to me any more. I mean, it's not as bad as the Unicorn (which would have been impossible anyway), but all the Kenneth era albums don't reach me in any way (set aside some songs). Maybe I'll go see a gig, just to hear the Blissard stuff, but I am not sure yet.
Danced to "Like always" at a party last week. Still the perfect Indie-Pop-Rock-Song for me. I just miss the mix of short, catchy songs with brilliant melodies and the epicness of The Wheel and the like. Maybe it's just me turning 40 this week…
To sum it up in the words of the german band Tocotronic: "Ich mag dich einfach nicht mehr so!"
