I guess some of the "home recordings" could surface as a surprise tour release. That would be cool.
So excited! By the time I get to the first of my two shows for this tour (Bremen and Köln) it will have been 2 years and 7 months since the last one. Moreover, the band have released two double albums in the meantime and reportedly have at least two more album's worth of material in production. I would love to speculate on what they might play, but there are three tracks in particular that I'm hoping they play: NOX, and the two new spacey songs whose names I can't remember but which were premiered as Ny Lang and Ny Halvlang. Of course the bottom line is that I'll just be happy to be there, whatever they play. Does anyone else have hopes and dreams for the setlists?
@boomer – Roger Dean is an artist with a very distinctive style who has created album covers for numerous artists, but is most associated with Yes. He created the cover for Gentle Giant's album Octopus. GG were a popular and critically acclaimed 70s progressive rock band. The cover is viewable here: Gentle Giant – Octopus
@ThorEgil and Boomer
The teaser also contains a cheekily pixelated Roger Dean Gentle Giant octopus.
@ bernie – I'm really happy for you starting a new life. But sad there will be no more of your great films, which have been such an amazing contribution to the Motorpsychommunity. So long and thanks for all the films.
I would be very sorry indeed to see this site close, but I'm sure you have done and are doing all you can to keep it running. I have zero experience with Reddit, so I can't help in that regard. Wherever you take us, I intend to follow. Good luck.
This appears to be a new review, from Amarok Magazine.
Quote:Tower / The Crucible / The All Is One, which the trio from Trondheim puts back the cover in a beautiful way with (if I count correctly) their 24th original album in … 30 years of existence. One could fear a shortness of breath, a drop in quality or inspiration with such a rhythm … well no. The band maintains its high level of quality while staying true to its recognizable style. Motorpsycho's music is still just as powerful, somewhere between progressive-psychedelic rock and proto-doom à la Black Sabbath or Big Elf (“Kingdom Of Oblivion“). Moreover, a surprise is lodged in the first half of the album with a cover of “The Watcher†by Hawkwind, one of the titles of the group signed by Lemmy Kilminster. The version signed here is magnificent, darker, more hypnotic, lit and haunting than the original, which almost sounds like a bluette when listened to in succession. To support the trio Bent Sæther (vocals, bass, guitar, keyboards, percussion), Hans Magnus Ryan (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards, mandolin, violin, bass) and Tomas Järmyr (drums, backing vocals), it is the Swedish cousin and extraordinary guitarist Reine Fiske (Landberk, The Amazing) who comes to lay down her characteristic guitar, her keyboards and co-sign the arrangements for most of the titles. Among these, “The United Debased“, is forged on lead: a riff that we could hear coming out of Iommi's guitar, teases a very melodic vocal, soaring keyboards and above all contains some of the most beautiful solos from the album. “DreamKiller†on his side with the same Fiske is much more barred. Always as heavy when the power is unleashed, it also knows how to be minimalist at times. Psychedelia, combined with the power of a Black Sabbath, is what this album evokes the most. Whether it's the title track, “Kingdom Of Oblivion“, or the long “The Transmutation Of Cosmoctopus Lurker“, or even the very first “The Waning Pt 1 & 2“, we constantly take the power of music and compositions in the face, with powerful riffs, a thunderous bass, but at the same time a real progressive construction with musical phrases that clash, change direction and rhythm, frenetic solos that one would think had been given birth on acid, in short if we enter the world of the Norwegians, we are not bored for a quarter of a second. The group also knows how to let its audience breathe and offers between these pieces of bravery some acoustic interludes (“Atet“, “Lady May“, “Cormorant“), or more classic (“At Empire’s End“).Motorpsycho is making yet another great record. There are still reminiscences of the GullvÃ¥g trilogy, in the heaviness of several titles, but we also find a strong contrast, with acoustic titles, almost light and folkloric which bring back to Phanerothyme, one of their great successes. That said, the strength of Kingdom Of Oblivion…it's precisely its strength: imagine the ride of the Valkyrie soundtracked by Black Sabbath having taken LSD and you'll have an idea of what you'll take in the figure by listening to most of the 'album. The Motorpsycho universe is earned, but once you have found the key.

@punknotyet: All the best to you and yours. Hoping you stay safe and well.
There is a new album scheduled for summer release, according to the BIO section of the band's website: "the band also recorded new music with Helge Sten in Amper Tone studio in Oslo in August [2021], and this material is currently being mixed for a new album, again by Andrew Scheps. ETA on this album is summer 2022."
I agree Boomer – would be great if it came out in time for the tour.
While I am in full support of people's right to protest, the so-called "Freedom Convoy" very quickly became infiltrated, supported and funded by far-right groups in the US and in Canada – and those people I most certainly do not support.
As a former Canadian citizen and resident of Ottawa I have many friends in the city who have witnessed firsthand the influence and presence of far-right movements in the convoy including the presence of swastikas and confederate flags as well as known far-right agitators and political figures. Friends of mine, some of whom are involved in eco-protest movements and have themselves faced up to Ottawa's police, have also been involved in counter-protests to rid the city of the convoy – a convoy which represents an extremely small percentage of (a) Canadian citizens and (b) Canadian truckers. So although the police may have acted badly, the situation is far from black and white. To me it just looks like one bunch of political actors (the government) having a fight with another bunch of political actors (far right movements and agitators), and that the most important aspect of the movement (to voice concerns about over-reaching control) has been captured by people with rather more unsavoury ideologies.
And just to be clear, I also do not support the use of force by police or governments in confronting protesters if the protesters are non-violent. But then again, I do think it's right to confront far-right, swastika-waving racists.
I also support Thomas's statement that this forum is not the place to attack or confront Bent, especially since this whole thread is based on comments he made a year ago, and while you have continued to make your statements over and over again, he has not responded. It seems to me that you're doing what English people call flogging a dead horse. He hasn't responded so far, so I'd say you're wasting your time trying to call him out.

With Minami Deutsch and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets on the same day! That's quite a line-up!
Great question, Anders!
There is one Roadwork album I'd like to see created that has been mentioned here before by Tomcat (and maybe others). It draws solely on the Leuven 2019 concert and all the tracks can be viewed at Motorpsychodelicclips, thanks to Bernie's sterling devotion. The only issue is that it would include one track that has already appeared on a Roadwork album.
Side A
Lacuna/Sunrise (31 mins – split onto Side
Side B
Lacuna/Sunrise (concluded)
Uberpilgrim (11 mins) (I think Tomcat suggested Psychotzar in this spot)
Side C
A Pacific Sonata (23 mins)
Side D
Fool's Gold (19 mins)
I've been trying to get some friends (not Motorpsycho fans) to join me for a few days in Amsterdam after my trip over to see MP at Bremen and Köln. Now that the band have booked the 9th May in Amsterdam, I just might be able to go to that show too.
Fingers crossed.
Yeah! Got my Leuven ticket too. It's going to be a great event.
Thank you so much Bernie and Mark. The sound is suprisingly good and I'm really enjoying this recording.
