Another thing worth mentioning: It's not possible to get it as an E-ticket to your e-mail. Only 2 options: Either pick it up at the ticket office in the Opera, or have it sent home to your mailbox. I don't know if there's any extra cost involved with that last option.
Got my ticket, too. Row 2, middle-ish
Tou Scene is in Stavanger, Norway.
Nice one. That interview more or less confirms that MP will play the Opera gig autumn this year.
If my German is correct, Snah calls The Death Defying Unicorn "the first kitsch-free rock-opera since Tommy"
Quote:Have anyone recognized any of the two main riffs from the church concerts from these snippets?SPOILERS AHEAD (read no further if you want to keep the excitement)

I've recognized one: The track that starts at approx 54 mins on the Trondheim bootleg. Snah's guitar riffs during the "and I miss it so" chorus was reprised by a sax on one of the snippets. And an even nicer surprise: Anyone remember that silent guitar theme that Snah plays right before Starhammer takes off on HMF? Well, that one is reprised in a far different context on the track Into The Gyre.
If any of you are near Oslo on February 9th, you might want to attend this "releaseparty" for the new MP album. The album will be played in its entirety, and you can purchase the album + limited edition t-shirts and silk prints. The awesome record-store Big Dipper is behind this arrangement.

It looks as if Bent is preparing for a life after MP. He has also produced the new album from Trondheim roots-rock band The South.
Finally! Nice piece of triva: It's the first time in 18 years that MP plays @ Sentrum Scene. Of course Sentrum Scene was closed for several years, so that might be part of the reason why.
Compared to Rockefeller's 1300 capacity, Sentrum Scene has an 1800 people capacity.
The biggest surprise for me was the snippet of track 2, The Hollow Lands. That one was totally The Mars Volta all the way! Snah & Kapstad have been spotted at Mars Volta gigs in Oslo; finally it paid off music-wise
As for vocals, I really don't care all that much. I expect the same "slightly off-key" Bent as always :MPD:
I listened to all of the snippets. I think the snippets aren't very representative, as it looks like the one choosing 'em decided to almost entirely focus on the string/horn parts
Well, in Norway we have a bunch of cultural institutions providing financial support for both recording albums and touring. And MP usually gets a nice piece of that cake because they can fill up decent size venues both in Norway and abroad. And sell a decent bunch of albums.
So that means that MP's expenses for albums and touring are significantly lowered, and they can make a decent living without touring 300 days a year
So far no Danish gigs have been announced. But there are still more dates to be announced, I think. So maybe Copenhagen will get a visit?
