Review:
I'm very impressed about the unicorn and heared it a lot. Today came my new great headphones( beyerdynamic dt990) and with them it was an unbelievable new experience on this trip.
I guess there will come a second day if the tickets are so fast go away.
Quote:I bet they'll cram a good 30 minutes of old stuff into the setlists aswellHope so, or extra long encores.
maybe they should do a two set tour. set one – the unicorn, set two – "the old stuff".
Opera Ticket ordered.
It seems from now on I have to travel every november to oslo.
Btw, 11.11. is my birthday, what a birthday evening.
Quote:Majestic!!YES!
Hm, for me it sounds a bit strange, that they will play the whole album every night.
That's a totally new step in theire life career. will see, if it works.
I for one love a lot of mp live. The energy, the jams, the fun, and last but not least the suprises.
And I always thought they are too spontaneous to do something like that.
The unicorn is in the house!

Quote:It looks as if Bent is preparing for a life after MP. He has also produced the new album from Trondheim roots-rock band The South.Hopefuly not! 8O
Maybe he feel that he have more than enough experience after this long time in the business to produce some other bands.
26 of may? It seems that will grow up to the biggest tour for a long time. :MPD:
Or, more likely, they will have a break.
two other reviews:
Quote:10.2. *Stickmanhttp://www.flight13.com/details/9784…efying-unicorn
Quote:Most bands will reach a creative peak at a certain point in their career after which they simply continue in a less interesting fashion before eventually calling it a day. Not so with Motorpsycho. After more than 20 years they continue to develop and to to challenge themselves artistically. On this epic, double concept album, easily their most ambitious yet, Motorpsycho has assembled the cream of classical and jazz musicians from world class ensembles established in Trondheim, their hometown. â€ÂThe Death Defying Unicorn†was first commisioned by Molde International Jazzfestival for their 50th anniversary in 2010 where it was performed on the main outdoor stage. This, however, has been partly re-arranged, refined and recorded from scratch at Propeller Studios in Oslo with KÃ¥re Chr. Vestrheim once again co-producing as he did with â€ÂHeavy Metal Fruitâ€Â. StÃ¥le Storløkken (Supersilent, Elephant9, Humcrush, Terje Rypdal) is considered one of Norway´s top keyboardists but here he also comes into his full as a writer and not at least arranger of the two ensembles. His contributions to this album can not be stressed enough. Among the players in Trondheim Jazz Orchestra are wellknown names such as Kjetil Møster (Ultralyd), André Roligheten (Albatrosh) and Mathias Eick, not to forget star violinist Ola Kvernberg.I didn't know before that Mathias Eick is part of the unicorn. But it's logical.
That is mentioned here:

Another short review found here: http://www.justforkicks.de/detail.asp?sid=1673802M79N239N113N9&uid=0&id=13440&lid=1
It seems it is from the german alternative rockmagazine visions, the february issue will come in a few days.
Google Translater says:
Two years after the acclaimed, highly complex and sprawling Heavy Metal Fruit Motorpsycho go one step further. Towards prog, psychedelic rock opera in direction, towards rock Olympus. Is that possible? And above all: Is that good? This music has a depth that The Death Defying the Unicorn perhaps most important, make sure also to the most vulnerable album of the band's history. Who can understand this yet? Except those who understand the psycho-motor? Highest rating – in this case the minimum. (VISIONS – 12/12 points)
I also think that it is likely that they will do a spring and an autumn tour,
don't ask me why, just a feeling.
Quote:The article continues – "Storløkken and maybe one or more guests will join them in the tour"Maybe Ola Kvernberg? – That would be awesome.
