thanks for posting the links
Sounds a lot like 92-94 Guided By Voices
Lo-fi to the coreWould gladly buy a copy without a distributor for Europe, it’s just a drag to buy from Norwegian shops
Really jealous about the SoJo date. Such a cool place managed by cool people. Not living in the country anymore, otherwise it’d be unmissable.
Thanks again. Fuck it. Tomorrow I’ll book tickets for 2 Belgian and 3 German shows. I know and met many psychonauts following the band for a good leg of their tours, never done that myself, now that I live far away and don’t have much shows anymore, it’s maybe time to do this for once in my life.
Thanks for the tip
I only have limited experience with the German railroad (or railroad in general, don’t even know what’s best to use between Belgium and Germany), and everyone around me keeps saying it’s a terrible network in Europe. Thanks guys
I was in Hamburg earlier this week so I might just skip it to do some tourist stuff in other cities in between shows.
The Hannover – Bielefeld – Cologne could be a good run, especially if I manage to do the 2 Belgian dates before.fellow German psychonauts, I’m considering doing 2 or 3 dates in Germany for this tour. What would be the easiest/smoothest set of dates if travelling by train?

Can’t wait for all those usual dates in Finland to drop.
Looks like there’s a new Needlepoint album coming out in 2 days

Pretty hardcore to find any news or distribution outside Norway for now. Hopefully it will be available more widely soon.
“If a chef at a restaurant fired all his staff, I would still expect the same quality of food if im still paying the full price.”
That’s where our expectations differ I guess. If the chef is temporarily going through some rougher times, I would not go full-on Karen mode because of one slightly less tasty meal than usual, especially after 3 decades of enjoying the same restaurant.
It is sure sad having a crappy sound vinyl but I would cut some slack to the guys having to deal themselves with all the challenges of launching a label and all the problems around vinyl manufacturing nowadays (I run a label myself, it ain’t fun and easy).
In the end, I’ll see Yay and Neigh as a special time in the band’s massive history and would not care much about the vinyl quality of one specific little outtakes record.
@Flippern
Been keeping an attentive ear to your music and watched a few times your live stuff on YouTube. Impressive stuff. Looking forward to a proper EP or LP.Second listen and I don’t think it is a bad album at all. Sure it’s a bunch of outtakes, but it’s more in line with the traditional MP than Yay!, which didn’t do much for me.
“Return to Sanity” is the only song I don’t click with, but many others are very good and could work well live.
If these songs were released on 2 EP in between Kingdom of Oblivion and Ancient Astronaut, that would have been very cool as well.
That random date in Gothenburg makes me hope for a date in Stockholm, or even better somewhere in Finland.
I can be happy with an album of weird noisy outtakes.
“Yay!” didn’t do much for me but I remember being somehow disappointed by “Phanerothyme” back in the day, and it’s an album I go back to the most. -
