The current version of the MPDB site is pretty complete, and awesome in many ways. Love the maps, the footprint and such an easy access to clips and recordings.
Brilliant all around. Thanks again for allowing this to exist in such a cool format and for taking into consideration the feedback of the community. There are some other things that could be considered like gamification of show attendance or activity on the forum, etc, but I don’t think it’s very much the vibe between psychonauts.
Maybe one fun thing : create your own “Roadwork”, where we can create playlist of selected live songs from the available recording we think are at the Roadwork level, and make our own little online bootleg. “Psychonaut Roadwork”, sorta. With an option to upload our own artwork for it.
It could allow the creation of fun concepts, like for instance 10 chronological live versions of “Mountain” over the span of 20 years to see how much it evolved through the years, or something like covers only playlist, or “best of live Reine”, rarest live songs, etc.
Just thinking out loud, hoping this makes sense.Edit : also, why not adding a discography section? Lifting up most of the data from Discogs but with maybe higher resolution images? And an option to also indicate what we have in our collection (with even more data, like % of LP own, % of 7″, etc)

I think the map could be right under the first container, since it is a cool visual overview.
The Motorpsycho footprint background color is maybe too similar to the Dig Deper section, it would benefit from being more prominent.
Maybe as tabs? One tab for the map, one for the footprint?I noted this while quickly browsing :
Personal footprint
Most Visited Country
belgium <—- no caps in the countryTours page
Link to https://mpdb.no/stats/tour/?tour=2025 gets a 404This is so cool, I’ve been reading setlists of shows I forgot I attended thanks to adding them to my stats.
For instance this show, which was an absurdly good and fun show :
This is brilliant. Can’t wait to use this feature.
Congrats on adding the map for the tours, it’s such a cool visual gimmick.
Will there also be a map on the personal stats like a fitness tracker? So I can sell my touring attendance to my wife as personal exercice. Thanks for all the great work.

Great idea with the On this Day in a the timeline on the right!
Is this AI thing that bad or problematic? I find it sure surprising but somehow enjoyable and goofy enough. It fits the song nicely IMO.
Sure I would prefer this AI stuff to have more creative post-editing, but it’s no big deal in my book.Hey Dennis,
Some more feedback and random thoughts/suggestions that are purely subjective, since the MPDB is already more than awesome as it is! It’s just thinking out loud at this point.Header :
The “MPDB” in the header should be fully “Motorpsycho Database”, so the “Motorpsycho database” above the search field could be remove (redundancy, improve readability)? Maybe a white Motorpsycho logo instead of the text would work too (like a third of the width size of the search field).Search field section :
Not sure the number of songs played live is truly relevant. Sure the number of gigs performed and clips available are part of the fun of this DB, but maybe without the songs played live box, the 3 remaining boxes can be aligned with the width of the search field. On This Day section :
– “On this day in XXX etc” might be redundant as well.
“A recording is available form this show” might be overkill since the microphone logo is clearly visible.
– I only noticed today that the year is in the background of each block. Could the full date be the first line with the location as second line?
So the content of simplified boxes would look like :
March 18 2011
Byscenen
Trondheim, NORWAYAgain, just some food for thoughts.
Been enjoying a lot going again through the old set-lists of shows I attended 20 years ago. What a cool/fun site/tool!
This is great! Thanks again Dennis. Really cool having such an easy access to this massive history and recordings.
While browsing this morning I noticed for the first time the other sections on the homepage.
Suggestion :
Having smaller containers for these modules, placed in two sections instead of one? Kind of the Discogs modules.
One section with two containers – Latest (5?) Gigs on the left, then latest (5) clips on the right, and under the On This Day In MP History section in one larger container?Just to avoid missing out the extra content that is available.
Have to agree with night #2 being on another level.
Not sure about the good sound, I found it both night pretty catastrophic, but a sonic blast nonetheless. What a band. Can’t wait for the German tour later this year.
Thanks Francesco for keeping track of each shows so well.
Hey Dennis, thanks again for the udpate. It’s truly great.
Regarding feedback or comments, I think an active map for cities (not countries) would be fun and visually appealing, in the same vein as those :
https://www.traversees-urbaines.fr/map/cinemas-marseille-france-16.htmlhttps://www.oncidiumfoundation.org/access-treatment/
I think the dropdown lists are sort of unusable (on Vivaldi/Chrome),they are too long anyway
One database site that I enjoyed using for years is the Guided By Voices one :
https://gbvdb.comWith pages dedicated to songs, cities, etc, it may fix the drop down list issue.
In any case, thanks a ton!
weeeelp, looks like that nice pizza place is in the same block as my hotel.
thanks a lot pfft!
This is great, many thanks indeed to everyone involved
Same as pantelis79, any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Happy release date to all Psychonauts.
Another great day to be a Motorpsycho fan.
This is a very cool release in many ways.It was a nice little listen. Thanks.
