Trondheim must be one of the most boring cities in the world – given the amount of excellent music coming from there in the last two decades ;-)
@ Punj_Lizard: I’ll send you a mail for a sneak preview in a few days. Have to finish an own demo recording first and do not want to risk Motorpsycho sneaking into the tune ;-). Bad enough the whole thing is almost a reworking of Genesis’ “The Knife” – though not nearly as cleverly written, clumsily played and with slightly different chords and rhythm. And German lyrics – that should deter anybody curious ;-)

Alright, I’ll wait then. Didn’t hear anything about any new MP release – generally avoiding the antisocial media as far as I can…
@ Punj Lizard: As it is obviously a Record Store Day Only Release (and I wouldn’t buy it anyway for just one track, though the title and cover are brilliant):
could you somehow make the one new track “psycholab” accessible for me somehow? (Upload, link or whatever)?
Being curious…Cheers in advance!
Just had a youtube-roundup of the Erfurt Festival line-up.
Though the name Motorpsycho of course overshadows all and everything on location (that’s why I have ignored the rest so far at my own risk of being stupid again) it all looks pretty good – so go there, if you can. Time to re-evalutate my Kadavar predjudice anyway (it was just too hot in that Heidelberg location 2014…).@ welcomehome: Then it’s gotta be Olaf Olsen (which is probably Norwegian for “Daevid Allen” because Olaf looks just like that guy). Or is there any other information?
@ Tomcat: Too late, too late – bought mine last week for an unnegotiated price. Probably should have waited longer…
Anyway: great location, only summer show in Germany, so anyone should get Tomcat’s ticket in time, even if fucking Kadavar is on the line-up (my subtle, objective opinion ;-) ) – I’ll probably go home after MP, but I think I’ll give the bloody Corpses a chance first…
Session happened just before we opened Burg Herzberg Festival 2011. I joined Freak City Band as flute and sax player only in 2010 – the band had been active a few years before. A core of 5 or 6 people who rented an old house with an extra rehearsal room from the festival landowner and organised things plus 6-10 musicians from the festival crowd. I don’t know all of them by real name – lot of them used nicknames. I was introduced by Paul Pott from “Space Invaders”, “Hausfrauen of Death”, Robb & Pott who however left the band the year before.
A diehard MP fan, he had been a central figure in bringing Motorpsycho to Herzberg festival for the first time in 2008.
Ingvald was one of two drummers, we had a regular bass player, Nafi on selectric sitar-guitar and occasional bass and a number of other people involved. Kind of band leader and organiser was Zoppo, who played guitar (Herzberg’s Stephen Stills, imho) and who uploaded the videos on youtube. This was Freak City Band named after the central camping and partying area on Burg Herzberg’s festival ground, which opened the festival on Thursday afternoon for a few years, until it all fell down in the mud chaos of 2012 and the aftermath.
We just rehearsed a few times the day before the gig – some people even just joined on stage. Besides I was a specialist in de-tuning my sax, so it all came out a little bit shaky in the recordings. Great fun and response on stage though!

Wohow! SLIFT! Grrreat Performance! Up to the point the singer starts to scream. Slightly damages the greatness of the music imho. What happened to good old singing? But still…
Interesting stuff, that Full Earth album. Thanks a lot for the link!
I’m still in doubt if I should buy a ticket for the Erfurt show. 90 mins might be ok on a regular basis, but I’m still not convinced about the “Singles” concept. As I’m either ignorant or even rejecting the other acts (I find Kadavar rather boring – or did so when they supported MP in 2014, sorry folks) it would be quite helpful to learn if there’s something else Motorpsychedelic to expect this year, probably a fall tour?
Yep – House at Pooneil Corners again! If Bent still manages the “Screamo” vocals, that is. “Have You Seen The Saucers” would also be a very welcome Airplane cover. “Mountains of the Moon”? Why not…
Rock Bottom / Silver Dollar Forger on ebay for a reasonable price:

Molde Bandinfo: “Have Spacesuit, Will Travel” Duo Incarnation ;-)
Funny Spidergawd Clip. But they sound like everybody else these days – mainstream stuff. Nothing to dwell on acoustically…
