My last notification from the shipping company was that the package had left the Netherlands on Tuesday morning. Nothing since then (I guess it takes a while to cross to the UK these days). So streaming will have to do for now! Here goes …

June 17, 2023 at 00:21 #41523They crafted a summer breeze with this one!
June 17, 2023 at 08:46 #41524Wow, i didnt expect it to be rather sparse. After reading who would be involved in the making, i expected it to be more dungen-like psychedelia/eclectic kammermusik. It is really great. The last albums were more from the head, this is more from the belly and the Heart.
Regarding fade-outs: I also hated them in the past. Thought of them that the artist was being too lazy or uninspired to craft a proper ending. Now i really love them if they fit the song. There is something bittersweet about it….like looking back at your love when the train departs ;)
June 17, 2023 at 14:23 #41525My first impressions after five spins: It’s good and I like it. I like the vibe an the feeling of the album and I appreciate the musical course-change after the long series of those mind-blowing prog-monuments they’ve released over the last years.
But when I take of my superfan-glasses and be honest to myself, there is an album without too much memorable hooks and melodies. In my opinion enriching for this kind of music… Many songs remind me of the b-side- and outsourced-material of their regular studio-albums and those more calmer tunes in the middle of the tracklists from the last albums.
On the other hand, there is a really special vibe in these tracks. One can almost imagine the depressing atmosphere in the last three years.
And I definitely have to mention the brilliant goose-bumps-guitar-solos in ‘Patterns’ and ‘Hotel Daedalus’ that reminds me of the feeling on the great two HBM-albums!Truly an album of it’s time.
Not a highlight to me so far but let’s see what happens in the next days. Maybe it’s a grower.June 17, 2023 at 14:56 #41526Snah with the tin foil hat 😅
June 17, 2023 at 15:40 #415271. I love it
2. All lyrics (not with the vinyl but) at bandcanp
3. Finally they made a Bond-Song
4. I remember my first post at the Bent-Interview-Thread, more than 2 years ago:
The good news is: Bent was probably too busy making music to dig deeper into the pandemic bullshit…
June 18, 2023 at 23:59 #41528Two more Cents:
– Love that Snah is very present on the Album
– really like the combination of acoustic guitars and gently subdued fuzz bass…not for the sake of being brutal but just that little edge it needs to not make it too tame
– as someone mentioned earlier, i also get a late 90/00s vibe from it -
