I always knew Genesis were a pompous bunch of lazy sods – two people is enough for that kind of music ;-)
March 3, 2025 at 01:05 #44005Ha, ha! Yeah! Bunch of slackers!
March 13, 2025 at 19:52 #44038New Temple Fang album “Lifted from the Wind” will be released by Stickman Records on 04/25.
One long track “The River” is already available on Bandcamp:

They are called Fucales and I had never heard oft them before. Since the show I have been listening to their album quite a bit. It’s really well done. They are a bit all over the place genre-wise while at the same time having their own recognizable voice. I’m getting 90s-MP-vibes here and there.
March 26, 2025 at 13:40 #44097That “genesis – supper’s ready” guy is Antoine Baril who used to be in The Musical Box, a great tribute band that plays early Genesis. Seen them twice. Highly recommended!
March 27, 2025 at 00:06 #44104Yup! Off to see them do the ’72/’73 show next month. It will be my fourth time seeing them. They are superb!
April 6, 2025 at 09:57 #44189I guess that most, or all of you missed out on Norwegian band Rooftops & Satellites’ debut album Last Chance Diner. I think that there might be one or two people on this forum that might like this band, and now they have cut one nice video of their song Devil Takes Care from their last gig, with sound from soundboard.
If you don’t like it, never mind, thanx for the attention 🙂

April 13, 2025 at 23:40 #44231Released on Friday just gone, the debut album from Sevendials – ‘A Crash Course in Catastrophe’ – brings together Big Paul Ferguson, Chris Connelly and Mark Gemini Thwaite, between them boasting a pedigree comprising Killing Joke, Ministry, The Mission, Revolting Cocks, etc. For some reason, they have chosen to cover a Sparks song (‘Number One Song in Heaven’) on which I wonder how they could have hoped to top the original. (It’s not a bad stab, but what’s the point?) Otherwise, the album might make for interesting listening. Here is ‘Zodiac Morals’:
September 9, 2025 at 19:01 #44732Three weeks ago, I did a live jam for the film “Koyaanisqatsi” together with friends from other bands. We jammed through the film in a rehearsal room a couple of times, agreed on transitions and hoped for the right spirits playing it live
After 2019, where we did a similar thing for the film “Fantastic Planet”, this was the second time we ever played together.
Unfortunately, Youtube blocked half of the footage because of the projection. However, we recorded everything straight from soundboard and we’ll defnitely release the whole 85-minute ride in one form or another.
You’ll hear influences of Loose, Can, Neu!, Tortoise, Swans, Goat, Nels Cline and, obviously, Motorpsycho (You might tell by the crescendo around the 14min-mark haha).
Excuse the blasphemy, but this is the closest I’ll ever get to roadworky travails and it made me really happyWe enjoyed it and I hope you do too!
September 19, 2025 at 09:59 #44748Today, Cardiacs, my other favourite band besides Motorpsycho, released their final album, titled LSD. The recording of it had started in 2007, was delayed after the band’s frontman and mastermind Tim Smith suffered a stroke and a heart attack in 2008 and was only finalised posthumously after Tim’s passing in 2020. If you are not familiar with Cardiacs, they sound like a punky take of progressive rock, or a very British take on Frank Zappa, but actually they are absolutely unique. The album features some prominent figures like Oceansize’s Mike Vennart and Gong’s Kavus Torabi.

September 20, 2025 at 09:37 #44753Cool, tx.
September 21, 2025 at 10:36 #44758Thanks for sharing the Cardiacs stuff. Not sure I will become a huge fan but I sure did listen to an unexpected and interesting mix of punk and prog I’ve never heard before. Will definitely investigate further.
Also not sure who’s into obscure spiritual jazz over here, but Oiro Pena is releasing their first proper album in a few days :
https://ultraaanirecords.bandcamp.com/album/b-keThe repress of their first EP is a must have and an easy way to get into the band :

They are on tour throughout Europe in October, November and December. They are great live, so, if they are anywhere near you, I highly recommend you get along. Everybody knows we will be kissing the sun!
October 6, 2025 at 13:50 #44816I second that. The Young Gods are brilliant and even brillianter live! A must experience.
@marc
hey, that jam-to-a-movie is great!October 7, 2025 at 00:09 #44817Another contender for album of the year is Jehnny Beth with You Heartbreaker You. She was the singer with the Savages who made two records in 2013 and 2016. And they were a fiery all women band in a postpunk altrock style but totally unique. Listen to them! There’s two Glastonbury shows up on yt.
Anyways, Jehnny‘s going solo now (well, with band) and is on tour. I‘m very giddy to see that very soon.
