Very sad times. Can please some Ukrainian or/and Russian psychonaut report, what she/he thinks about the crises. After the last 2 years, I only believe in half of German media.
February 28, 2022 at 14:48 #39614Adequate Ukrainian media: https://english.nv.ua/
Adequate Russian media (labeled as "foreign agent" in their country): https://meduza.io/en
Obviously, I will not recommend you any pro-putin "official" Russian media – they all are bunch of lying dicks.

P.S. I'm from Ukraine (currently live in Dnipro).

March 1, 2022 at 19:34 #39621In case if someone wants and has ability to help:
1) For humanitarian purposes:
2) To support Ukrainian Army:
These are official links of National Bank of Ukraine.
Both created accounts allow donations in EUR, USD and GBP.

March 8, 2022 at 17:38 #39624@ punknotyet: How is the situation in Dnipro at the moment? Do you prepare for Russian attacks – and how? Would like to learn what is going on…
March 10, 2022 at 17:16 #39625@Johnny_Heartfield, it's still pretty quiet here in Dnipro.
Our province is relatively safe place at the moment.
We have air raid sirens (~ 2-5 per day), but that's about it.
A lot of people joined the army or territorial defense forces not because of the fact of total mobilization, but because they really are brave and have required skills and desire to fight the oppressor.
A lot of other people help to prepare Molotov's cocktails, camouflage nets, anti-tank barriers; help to buy and deliver all the necessary supplies and goods; help refugees from other provinces; help to do many other important things.
It really looks like this war united all our people.
Personally I'm not that brave and don't have skills/expirience to join the military.
I continue to work at my job as a support programmer (while there is still a possibility for that) in order to help the army and other volunteers/organisations financially (donated already ~3/4 of all my savings).
I hope that helps as well.

Very nice article from Spin magazine: https://www.spin.com/2022/03/ukraine-russia-resistance/
It has a lot of information about current events from underground rock musicians from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and other Ukrainian cities.
Some of their bands (like 5R6, Stoned Jesus or Somali Yacht Club) I even mentioned previously on this forum in "New Music" thread.
March 10, 2022 at 17:43 #39626@ punknotyet: Thank you for the detailed information. We are with Ukraine here in Cologne , though not enough measures are taken imho to stop Putin's ability to continue the war. We still receive gas, oil and coal from Russia and therefore finance the desaster. Alledgedly it is almost impossible for us to do without Russian energy – a result of the catastrophic energy policy of the last 20 years. Personally I'd rather do without – a little freeze and less traffic is nothing compared to what your people are going through at the moment.
Myself I'm not very fit for military action, but I have often thought what I would do in your situation. Though I refused military service then in the early 90s aa a young and very naive pacifist, I have long since become a little more realistic. Couldn't hit a target from 10 meters distance though with a gun.
Hopefully they manage to stop Putler asap. Our now very isolated ex-chancellor Schröder, nicknamed "Putin's poodle" in Russia, has alledgedly travelled to Russia to convince his corrupt "friend" to withdraw, but I'm rather pessimistic there.
Thanks for the Spin mag link though – I'll have a look.
Stay safe!
March 11, 2022 at 18:40 #39627@punknotyet: I'm pretty sure I heard Dnipro had been attacked within the last day. Are you OK? I expect everyone will hope we hear from you.
