September 13, 2026 at 00:08 #45745Such a cool show.
“Whip That Ghost” was a highlight of the tour. Definitely Roadworks level.September 13, 2026 at 00:12 #45746Whip > P’Zar was peak tonight
September 13, 2026 at 00:57 #45747Also Loneliness 🥁
September 13, 2026 at 01:54 #45748Rather short gig compared to the last two. The regular guy mostly on rhythm guitar. The drummer several decades younger.
Gibson bass played in a heavy virtuous style, sounding more like an electric amplified double bass. Lots of depths, but lacking in middle and high registers and sometimes even the motorik drive. Vocals clear and well sung, though a little to low in the mix from the lead guitarist. Great harmonies though, always in tune – probably the mostly rather simple lyrics support concentration. If you think I must talk about a parallel universe, you’re right. Though I’d liked to get in the Oldenburg gig, I was in Heerlen/NL to watch one of two Dutch Hawkwind shows this year. Good gig, but more a leasure event after two long and excellent MP shows this week.September 13, 2026 at 07:15 #45749From The Alchemyst onward it got better and better.
The venue is nice, but it’s not the Schlachthof/Bremen. Hesitated until 2 hours before the gig, if I should make the drive, but I am glad I did!Snah now looks as if he is teaching Kung Fu up on some mountain somewhere.
September 13, 2026 at 07:27 #45750A tightly played hit parade performed in a very engaging way for a crowd who gladly gives back Saturday night tour finale vibes. A great show indeed — if you are into that sort of thing.
Unfortunately, this is not the type of MP show I fancy when I have traveled 500+ km to see the band. I do look for the unexpected, spontaneity, for the band band breaking new ground, for jams and segues — all of which this show failed to deliver. Indeed, when the concert was barrelling towrds the finish line you could be excused for thinking you were at a festival and not at a club show near Bremen.
What we got though was a collection of outstanding individual performances highlighted by great versions of “Kill Devil Hills”, “Alchemyst”, “Manmower”, “Whip That Ghost”, “All is Loneliness” and a huge take of “Hey Jane”.
It was so good to see the band prospering and being in a good place. They promised to be back in spring.
See you!

September 13, 2026 at 12:44 #45754@ Fillmore: You should have been at the Düsseldorf gig then.
Always the gig lottery with MP tours ;-)September 14, 2026 at 09:20 #45757 -
