@Krist: When Motorpsycho first mentioned the Comeback Tour on their Instagram page (October 10th), they @-ed onkelfuzzbass (obviously), @reinisen (semi-obviously) and @ingvaldvassboe. No mention of Olaf O. there. My guess then was that Ingvald would do the entire tour, but his tendonitis may stop him, of course.
January 29, 2025 at 17:21 #43772Fuck! Get well soon, Ingvald! Be patient though – even if this means to cancel a MP tour.
January 29, 2025 at 18:39 #43773Ingvald has my sympathy. Rest is very necessary. I have been struggling with Achilles’ tendonitis now for ten months. It just won’t heal. It has prevented me from going out for runs with the result that, even though I have tried to modify my diet, I have added a few pounds around the midriff!
In about a month, I will be commencing shockwave therapy – maybe laser treatment too. In case you are reading this, Ingvald, I am unable, as yet, to recommend these on the basis of experience, but they might be avenues for you to explore.
January 29, 2025 at 20:19 #43774@Suntripper damn, sorry to hear that. Good luck with that! I can imagine rest is very important.
My sympathy goes to both of you. Take care.
January 29, 2025 at 20:33 #43775I chatted with Ingvald yesterday about the Kanaan concert at Bodø Jazz Open this weekend (where Vegard Staum will handle the drums).
He confirmed that he has stepped down from the upcoming Motorpsycho tour, hoping to be back in action during the summer. I have no idea who is taking over. Stian Lundberg did an excellent job at the Yule-show at Byscenen, so they have at least two very good alternatives.
Time will show.January 29, 2025 at 20:50 #43776I read about it on his instagram in early january, saying he needs rest for the upcoming kanaan tour. He made it through the first part of the tour but now he is back with same problem, unfit to play the more demanding kanaan-trio shows. All the best to him, it’s really tough not recovering properly and dragging along. Lots of patience and wishing for a strong comeback when it’s the right time
January 31, 2025 at 16:50 #43785Thanks, Krist, I appreciate that. I’m not going to bemoan my lot because I’ve been very lucky up to now but it does give me an insight into how frustrating it must be for Ingvald because, when you think it’s on the mend, you try something, and back it comes again.
I’m not playing drums under my current life circumstances but I’m sure kicking that bass drum would punish my Achilles’ over and over.
Maybe the solution is for Ingvald to move to Trondheim and focus exclusively on Motorpsycho!
February 1, 2025 at 20:21 #43799Bad news. Motorpsycho won’t be playing anymore next Saturday at Northern Winter Beat festival in Aalborg, “due to a broken leg and subsequent surgery”. Here is the link to the news on the festival’s website: https://www.winterbeat.dk/2025/01/29/northern-winter-eat-at-huset-vegan-community-dinner-2/

February 2, 2025 at 11:59 #43803As far as I know Hans Magnus broke his thigh bone in a skiing accident. There will be no stage diving on the upcoming tour.
Let’s really hope for a speedy recovery, that he will be able to play sitting down by the end of March – or at least by the end of April.
February 2, 2025 at 14:11 #43804Oh no, I hope it is not too painful and the medication works :( The healing plus the rehearsals with another drummer are a tough task – not even talking about being on the road and playing shows on a tour :-/
February 2, 2025 at 15:19 #43805Wishing you a speedy recovery, Snah!
At least it wasn’t a bone too near that amazing guitar playing!
February 2, 2025 at 15:46 #43806Hmm I hope he has a speedy recovery too. The “subsequent surgery” has me a little worried though.
February 3, 2025 at 02:01 #43807Oh shit!
From my heart all the love of the universe for a full recovery SNAH!
I was looking forward to the usual extended backstage chats here in Bielefeld, but health comes first.February 4, 2025 at 16:26 #43809God bedring, Snah!
I wouldn’t be surprised if the spring tour
is delayed/postponed tbh. -
