March 29, 2025 at 07:39 #44135A few notes from what I heard, liner notes, not checked on typos yet…
Spacey’s notes (6:12 a.m., Bielefeld, Tyskland)
What a blast! Didn’t I write that before about a MP show? Guess so.
The glorious ViKINGS of “the” experience you can get on a far-out rock music show. All in, nothing left.
So, here’s a fresh example of them creating a surrelastic pillow of westcoast feeling. Oh, not California, the westcoast of lovely Norway.
On the road since some 35 years, our dear explorers of the unknown substances that the northern gods put into the water up there.Or is it the fish?
Who knows, me not, I’m still your little Spacey disciple who gets closer by every note listened to his personal nirwana.
I really dig their new album, the former two were kind of “Leftovers” to me, some nice moments, but nothing close to the new real deal.
It will escape my mind why that album again will not sell millions of, sure, vinyls. But as Percy one sang “That’s the way”.
So, here’s the album, played live with warts and all, in its pure beauty, mixed up with a few classics from their – thankfully – long catalogue of fine songs.
Some may this show call it the “Tzar-Show”, but I think it got a very loose feeling, a probably mentioned person can never achive. No Kool-Aid in his mind.
And if you’re not going to California with flowers in your hair, you might take a rainjacket in your backpack and explore a surfer-free west coast.
I won’t be picking out any songs that I think are better than others, its just an ongoing smiling performance. Concluding with the almost silent notes of
“The Tower”. Enough praise, enjoy the show as much as I do. And let’s see what our friends got in their psychedelic backpack for Tyskland, Hollandia and other
countries where there’s no lonely Tzar close to his natural span of life. Let’s celebrate Europe and Freedom. Tusen Takk, Bent, Snah, Reine and Olaf. SB-

March 30, 2025 at 19:25 #44153hey everyone, nice surprise from METALLICANOR who nonchalantly filmed the whole show from the front row…as always I have 5GB limit per week…so heres the first batch..;enjoy and thanks to Metallicanor !!!!
March 31, 2025 at 15:46 #44156Wow that footage is incredible!
Some thoughts:
– The person who filmed this (thank you! This is so awesome!( was in the from of the stage on the left, so lots of Snah and Olaf and not so much of Bent and Reine.
– Snah is really, really in to it! All the time! He seems in the zone all of the time and really having fun.
– Reine seems to be singing quite a lot. I don’t hear it very good in the mix though. His role in MP live gets bigger and bigger. It really is a shame imo that there still is no Roadwork with him on it.
– I really like Olafs drumming. Quite straightforward but subtle and really jazzy at times.
– The double keys played by Reine and Snah is very cool.
