December 7, 2025 at 12:10 #44994Wow that’s an amazing setlist! Astronomy Domine, I would have loved to hear that.
December 7, 2025 at 12:13 #44995WoW !!! Should have been there.
Astronomy Domine !!!
Stalemate !!!
December 8, 2025 at 00:43 #44997Astronomy Domine was a HUGE surprise! I actually had to check the news to see if Roger Waters or David Gilmour had died or something. Great cover. Hopefully it signals a return to a more psychedelic MP.
Otherwise the start of the concert was rather boring “Riding the Tiger” is cool, but not super great. Bent mentioned they were playing songs from CotF because of the newly released (great sounding) remaster.
So far the new songs do nothing for me. They’re just straight rockers – well played, but not exciting. Parts of “Gaia 2” are extremely similar to “Into the Sun”, which I find kinda weird. It guess it’s on purpose?
Around “Superstooge” the show started to get better. “Stalemate” was good, but nowhere near the majestic versions we’ve gotten in the past. Bent told a fun story about how, in 1998, someone in Greece contacted them about using Stalemate in an after shave commercial. They agreed. That song is still streamed a lot by greeks, Bent said. So when they played in Greece earlier this year they decided to brush the dust off that song. Hopefully they keep playing it and rediscover how powerful it can be.
“Lucifer” was fun, as expected. “Lady May” was very jazzy and jammy, but nothing super exciting happened. “Balthazaar” was good. “Gullible’s Travails” was really good. “Psychonaut” was great and Bent sang some lyrics of other songs (not sure which) in there. “Mountain” is never wrong. And then we got “Astronomy Domine”. HUGE surprise and really good! Snah did the lead vocals, with psychedelic imagery playing on the backdrop. Pretty much the highlight of the evening for me.
The encore was a “hit parade” – well executed, as expected. Nothing to dislike there.
Fun (?) fact: the show was actually not sold out. Usually their shows in Trondheim are.
December 8, 2025 at 12:33 #44999Riding the Tiger was great for me, then wanted Whole Lotta Diana next, but Ozzylot was okish. The Comeback is a favorite from the record, but as you mention new songs don’t work that well live for some reason. The Gaia 2 issue is indeed strange. A fine version of Lady May.
No songs from the Tower triology played unfortunately.December 8, 2025 at 22:01 #45002I happened to bring my camera, so I shot a few pics. And everything was recorded too. Looking forward to hear the Astronomy Domine again.
December 9, 2025 at 15:28 #45006Bring on the recording. I’ll upload it to the archive
December 9, 2025 at 23:40 #45008Neptune Titan, stars can frighten!
So looking forward to this recording!
(on a sidenote, right now just listening to NOX Bergen 2021, holy fuckin smoke!!)
December 14, 2025 at 15:55 #45015Thanks a lot to Francesco and Stadtfelder for the recording which is up @ Dime now
December 15, 2025 at 01:01 #45016The entire second part of Psychonaut was Hawkwind’s Brainstorm. (At least a part of Brainstorm. The original is 10 minutes long and long overdue being covered by MP.
December 15, 2025 at 18:06 #45018The archive.org listing of this recording only seem to include Lady May. Is this an error, or intended?

Also: Nonetheless, thanks for recording. I’ve been to a bunch of these, but this years x-mas blast was indeed special. Just itching to hear this particular Superstooge again.

December 15, 2025 at 19:04 #45020@ zomzom82: Obviously upload still in process. If you go to “show all files” half of the show is listed in the meantime.
Hats of to Joecoco for his services. Just sent him the files the other day.
Btw.: Would be helpful if those Dime uploaders could send him the music directly. My dime ration is slowly going down, as the upload function is well – defunct – for me (browser or security issues, I guess).
Any other Dime customers: feel free to do the same or please upload your treasures directly to archive.org – in the end it is the only download space sanctioned by the band themselfves.-
