Bag inspection at the airport, they took out the “Shock Me” 7″ I bought in Leuven, to do a cocaïne swab test only on the record.
Haha! I don’t blame customs tho. The first thing they thought when they saw the Kiss cosplay on the cover was probably cocaine
May 8, 2025 at 10:05 #44398What’s been the average show starting time on this tour? I’m not sure I can make it at 8pm tonight, which is the “official” show start according to the venue’s website. Feels kind of early, though…
May 8, 2025 at 10:32 #44399Nijmegen, Cologne and Freiburg was 8pm.
May 8, 2025 at 12:58 #44400They usually start shortly after 8pm.
I think the Leuven and Sint Niklaas shows started close to 8:30.
Only the Hannover show started at 7pm (for which Bent said “Good afternoon” when entering the stage)May 8, 2025 at 13:32 #44401ah thanks for the heads up! Then I’ll have to rearrange a few things…
good afternoon, haha
May 8, 2025 at 13:58 #44402Leuven started at 8.30 (doors at 8.00), til 23.15.
Sint-Niklaas only started at 9.00 (doors also at 8.00), til 23.45.May 11, 2025 at 09:57 #44434Did anyone ever hear the band commenting on their modus operandi regarding the setlist writing process? Now that the tour is coming to its final days, this question (which i occasionally always had) popped up again.
How do they choose and sequence what they’re gonna play? Playing time, obviously. But beyond that? Do they draw little bits of paper from a hat? :) Is there an idea behind it or is it just intuition? Or is it TOS after all, deciding on what guitars he has ready for the night? :)May 11, 2025 at 13:17 #44435@marc Traditionally it has been everything from 120-30 minutes before the show, with slight adjustments made even closer. Things taken into consideration apart from what they want to play are physical/mental states, equipment, the soundcheck, site specific whims, and veeeery occasionally dedications and requests (such as Bjørn at Blitz getting “The Wheel”).
May 11, 2025 at 13:46 #44436@devotional Thank you for the insight!
May 16, 2025 at 19:41 #44468So, do you guys think that those two dates in October (Sofia and Athens) are the prelude to another leg of the tour? Or just a couple of isolated shows?
May 19, 2025 at 09:36 #44510Beyond my little review of the Dresden show, one thing I want to get out: A big big thank you and a hug to Olaf! His playing and persona really brings out a lot of good things in the band. Seeing him being fully into it and all smiles, it really did’nt feel like this was his first proper tour with MP. 60+ songs in his head and he made it all look and sound so easy! He brilliantly managed to keep the steam train on the rails…..Hats off to him
It’s really interesting how different drummers reveal different aspects of the band and change the dynamics of the songs. Whereas Ingvald (all the best to him) added a great fragile playfulness to the sound, Olaf is more of a straight rock drummer and i really enjoyed that as well. No need for a worse/better-debate. Next time they can bring both guys and play 4h-sets
May 19, 2025 at 10:10 #44512Hey Guys, just wondering…
I read in the individual gig reviews about recordings to surface on Dime. Wasn’t the live archive supposed to become the place to share? Or did I miss something :-( ?May 19, 2025 at 12:16 #44513As posting on archive.org has turned out to be a complicated and slow affair, the usual distributors continue on dime and leave it to all the others, i.e. us, to upload the stuff on archive. If you want to see Motorpsycho up there, feel free to contribute.
Because of all the alledged shortcomings of the archive upload we will need a lot of people to do the work together. The material once upped, the advantages of archive.org are obvious. But right now not yet a place for easy grabbing…May 19, 2025 at 13:40 #44514About recordings: This is the first tour with every show being recorded (and many shows with multiple recordings). The hard drives are full with raw files. The recordings need to be listened to, maybe improve the sound or the levels, cut some talks before the shows (I listened to some private chats because the recorder was already switched on) and so on.
I like the idea of the archive.org and everybody is welcome to share my recordings (at least one good person has already uploaded my recording of the Dresden 2022 show) but I will not deal with it in the next weeks.
May 19, 2025 at 13:56 #44515ok, thanks for the clarification. I have uploaded some stuff that was on my harddrive to the archive and yes, it takes a while. Will continue to do so anyway.
Unfortunately Dime is not working for me, but that is my issue to deal with. I will patiently wait for recordings to surface one or the other wayThank you.
