hey everyone, on this topic of gathering everything MOTORPSYCHO (video and audio) in one place. I have also been contemplating because without proper IT care the CLIPS site might not last long. One of the suggestions the band came up with is to start a chapter on THE INTERNET ARCHIVE and just have evrything there together. What do you guys think ? Im OK with it as far as my videos go. but maybe it can become very cool if all live audio recordings are gathered there as well. We could do this guys…feel free to discuss x bernie
October 27, 2024 at 16:43 #43393@ Bernie: We had that discussion some time ago and agreed in the forum that it would be a great idea to collect all the audio recordings there. Somebody approached MP management to get an o.k. for this idea – but as far as I know, no answer has materialized. I guess they are not too much interested altogether in having the taped stuff available for everybody, but probably if you contact them about the matter, that is something else.
Anyway – great idea!October 27, 2024 at 17:48 #43395I agree with Johnny Heartfield – no one will open an internet archive without the approvement of the band/management.
Bernie, I think you have contact to the band. Otherwise there would not be such lovely videos with that amazing sound.
If you see a chance to open this archive: yes!!
There are almost 600 shows with a recording known (not counting multiple recordings of one show).
October 27, 2024 at 19:38 #43398As far as I understand you Bernie, the band has suggested this ? If so, this is a no brainer to me 👌🏽🤟🏾

Let’s try to make it happen on archive.org then – now that Bent & Snah even want it, it’s “just” a question of ressources within the psychonaut network
Things that the band doesn’t or knowingly didn’t want to have spread may not appear.
Sounds like a great solution!
October 28, 2024 at 14:01 #43400Hey Bernie,
thats great news. Indeed i contacted the management twice regarding this issue a while ago and never got any answer. I think due to your great work with the videos, you are already in a closer contact to the band then i will ever be :D so…. please go ahead!October 28, 2024 at 18:26 #43401hey everyone, great to see everyone is on board and really wants to see this work. the band is still mulling over some details but should have a final answer soon. Fingers crossed x Bernie
October 28, 2024 at 20:18 #43402Awesome Bernie!

October 28, 2024 at 22:32 #43405Here’s hoping! We are grateful once again, Bernie, for your time, effort and, maybe, powers of persuasion!
October 30, 2024 at 12:22 #43418hey evryone,
so yeah…in preparations of the INTERNET ARCHIVE thing. I have afew questions Can anyone explain to me (SIMPLE please) how it basically works as far as administration goes. DO you start an account and that person loads evrything up ? And thats it ? Please advise an old man x bernie
October 30, 2024 at 13:36 #43419Anyone with a free account can upload media to the Internet Archive. It says so on the archive’s info page:
https://archive.org/about/I guess that the administrator of a group is responsible for starting that group and deleting stuff that does not comply with the regulations of archive.org and the group in question.
Most likely it is up to the group administrator to mark the uploads that are not for download (i.e. only streaming).
As far as I know there would have least to be two departments/branches of a Motorpsycho group – one within the archive’s “Live Music Archive” and one within the video department. But I guess it is possible to collect all the material in the “live music archive” section as well, audio and video alike, as it is (almost) all concert recordings. I think I have seen a similar procedure in the Grateful Dead group as well.
Anyway – that proceedings would save you from having to upload all the stuff on your own. Probably another group administrator can be found, who is responsible to execute the wishes of the band, should problems arise. Would save you a lot of time, but make you a “simple” uploader though ;-)
