now that we are all so lucky as to look forward to another tour of our beloved norsemen, i want to know how the arrangement on stage affects your concert experience. an example: on the last tour i have seen them in both lido(berlin) and beatpol(dresden). some of you have been there, but anyway: berlin regular setup (drums on the right), whereas in dresden the drums where in a (traditional)center position probably due to the character of the stage.

i know there are many parameters which make a show work/enjoyable/powerful to a higher or lesser degree, but after these two shows i came to the conclusion that the position of the drums is quite a big deal :-)

in berlin i could not connect to what was going on onstage at all, but in dresden i was blown away. i think that when the drums, somehow being the core of the band, are facing the audience, the energy is much more direct. The energy is coming straight at you, whereas with drums on the side it somehow seperates the band from the audience.

      :STG:

therefore, drums to the center! :finger:

What about putting the drums right up in your face?

Drums in the front! I love this setup, and of course the band!

@ThorEgil Drums in the face is the only way, the true way ;) Awesome gig!

            Down with those guitars!

Drums in the middle or on the side, as long as it's not in the back. Best setup the Melvins have with their 2 drummers: All in a line, guitar, drums, drums, bass.
