Goat The Head (ft. Kenneth) just put out their magnum opus so far, Et Lokalsamfunn I Sorg (A community in mourning). It’s Tom Wait-ish trønder death and despair from the outback. An absolute must hear. Standout tracks: Kustus, Varra Vanle

April 21, 2023 at 15:40 #41283Out today:
Black Moon Circle – Leave the Ghost Behind, with Tomas Järmyr on drums. I have only heard the single so far but looking forward to hearing the full album
Iron Jinn – Iron Jinn. Their debut album. I saw them play live a while ago and was blown away. Amazing band! Received the album a few days ago and it’s even better than I hoped it would be.
April 21, 2023 at 17:24 #41284And apropos of the two last post – Goat the Head and Black Moon Circle will do a double release concert at Trykkeriet Scene in Trondheim on May 26.
No surprise if we again will see two drumkits on stage and some joint effort between Kenneth and Tomas.

May 7, 2023 at 12:04 #41340Kanaan has released new record this Friday, and it’s very good.
https://kanaanband.bandcamp.com/album/downpourMay 7, 2023 at 14:31 #41341Kanaan are rather legendary if you ask me. A brilliant release concert for the new album just a few days ago.
May 8, 2023 at 09:31 #41346Been digging Kanaan since their first release. Their physical records are quite hard to grab over here.
May 14, 2023 at 07:49 #41368Great photos Thor!
May 25, 2023 at 08:56 #41411I have a chance to see Bo Ningen live, don’t hesitate to do so!
May 25, 2023 at 18:45 #41412From the few bits I’ve listened to I got the impression that Kanaan are just repeating the odd stoner rock formula – and though they deliver a sound I like a lot I still cannot judge wether they have any larger creative potential. Probably I should find out by intensive listening?
May 25, 2023 at 20:53 #41413I really like their latest lp. Can’t wait for the vinyl being delivered. True, it somehow is the stonerrock formula but imo very refreshing, full of awesome ideas and an incredible sound. My favorite song is Amazon, with the incredible Hedvig Mollestad. Btw, how cool would it be if Motorpsycho collaborated with her one day!
May 25, 2023 at 21:44 #41414Motorhedwig… sounds like very overdue, no? She‘s playing my hometown tomorrow.
May 26, 2023 at 08:38 #41415Motorhedvig – I’ve seen Snah playing with them twice – last time half a year ago. The roof lifted when they ended the show with Led Zeppelin’s ‘Rock And Roll’
And they are repeating the meetup at this years Moldejazz where Hedvig Mollestad is Artist in Residence this year – 8 concerts in a week.2022-11-19 Hedvig Mollestad Trio m. Hans Magnus Ryan – Verkstedhallen
May 26, 2023 at 10:13 #41418The Holy Family – Go Zero (release date 21 July)
The first (self-titled) album by The Holy Family – comprising mostly members of the excellent British band Guapo* – was a brilliant, sprawling mash-up of kosmiche, psyche, electronica, zeuhl, and acid folk. A captivating double album and easily one of my albums of 2021. Live, they proved to be an even more intense experience with jams propelled by Sam Warren’s magnificent driving bass grooves.
Expectations are high for another great album, and I aim to be at their London gig in August.
* If you don’t know Guapo, check out the albums Five Suns or History of the Visitation.
