Kanaan and Ævestaden – Langt, langt vekk
I just became aware of this album by Kanaan and Ævestaden. A beautiful heady mix of trad. and modern folk combined with a psych-jazz-stoner fusion.
Interesting combination indeed, they’re playing a few dates in January but not UK (Nijmegen is on my list)
Here is an enchanting bonus track that didn’t make to the album:

@crunch Try one link per post. I have had problems with multiple (like 2) links earlier.
ThorEgil: I turned that stupid limit up to 10 (didn’t realize there is such a setting) and it’s only held for manual moderation anyway.
I dont understand your post Punknotyet.
All your links are for old albums.
Got excited there for a minute.
odindahle, I made that post (pay attention to its number – 40798) more than 2 years ago ).
It was rejected back then due to multiple links.
I guess, it found its way in, when Vegard “turned that stupid limit (of links per post) up to 10”.
Ah, I see!
I ended up listening to Kanaan all night yesterday :D
Allow me to use this topic for a question. I have some new music but I don’t find the “post yr own music” topic anymore. Scrolled four years back, the search function didn’t help (is it really working? it doesn’t find anything for me).
I really need to bookmark it this time…. my bad.
THANKS!!!
I also just saw that I did bookmark an older topic like that which doesn’t link anymore…

Sykofant – 2024 – S/T
“Sykofant offers groove, distortion, hair, and sweat. A playful blend of crooked beats, pace changes, dissonance and genre mixing, while simultaneously providing the listener with an aftertaste of acoustic simplicity. The band thus evokes associations to another, perhaps lost, time, but at the same time injects a burst of freshness into the well-known soundscape of classic rock music.”

Great new prog-rock band from Oslo.
